Market Update

The stock market recently climbed to new all-time highs, while bonds also have been a stable component of portfolios. These results are despite continued uncertainty around tariffs, Fed independence, and technology stocks. August began with U.S. tariffs going into effect against most major trading partners after the initial 90-day pause. A federal appeals court later ruled that the “reciprocal tariffs” are illegal, possibly paving the way for the case to reach the Supreme Court.

Despite these challenges, market volatility remains low by historical standards. August's solid performance across stocks and bonds once again underscores the importance for investors to stay balanced and focused on the long run (you knew we'd have to say that, right?).
