KEY UPDATES

We have been busy as school has started back with staff working in schools to provide programming and supports. We continue working with the Jackson Rotary clubs and other volunteers to build ramps in Jackson County. Our Independent Living staff are working hard in all three counties to provide support and structure to goals and plans that their clients identify. The Community Transition Specialist has remained busy all year to help people live in a safe setting of their choice. On September 22nd & 23rd we will have a booth at the Clinton Fall Festival where you get a chance to stop by and chat with us. The weather will be great for some local entertainment and fall festivities.

The Inclusion Event on November 1st (info below) is going to be a blast, hopefully you will join us for a night you won't forget.

Ask Me Anything

In recognition of Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness, our staff member Brian has volunteered to do an "Ask Me Anything" video. If you have any question around spinal cord injury, Brian will do his best to answer from his experiences as a person with a complete SCI since July, 2005. Feel free to ask the questions by replying to this email, Facebook message us, or email him [email protected]

The Inclusion Event

Save the date for The Inclusion Event - Adaptive Sports for All. On November 1st, we will be coming together inside the American 1 Event Center 6-830PM to have a good time and hear from the amazing Dr. Okanlami "Dr. O".

It is free. All ages and abilities are welcome. There will be door prizes, finger foods, silent auction, cash bar, adaptive sport equipment to see, touch, and use. Bring your family, friends, co-workers and TRY IT! Paralympics are next year and this is an opportunity to experience the games before you see them on TV.

New Brochure Photos

We are working on creating a new brochure and can use your help. We are looking to incorporate photos from those that we know and have worked with. We are asking for pictures of people with disabilities that are out living their life. Especially if we can tell that you are somewhere in the three counties that we cover. Please email your photos to [email protected]

You just might be in our next brochure!

Ramp It Up!

Funding is what truly limits the number of ramps we can build for community members. EVERY year we have more applicants with needs for a ramp than we can build.

That's where Ramp It Up comes in. Every dollar raised through the fundraising campaign will go into providing further accessibility modifications for more community members our initial funding couldn't reach this year.

Learn more about the Ramp It Up campaign through videos and some examples of how we make our ramps for people through the link below. With your support by donations, crowdfunding through your social media ands email, or simply sharing the program and how it will be used, we will surpass the $3,200 we raised and used last year to help even more people remain within their homes and parts of their community.
