Happy Labor Day 2024!

The Annual Men’s Invitational Golf Tournament will probably be wrapping up as of the publication of this newsletter as the Labor Day holiday is “early” this year. I hope many of you were able to join in on the fun during this unofficial end of Summer.

As we enter the Fall Season, children are returning to school, hunting seasons open and the outside temperatures will start to mellow……remember, it is still a great time to come out to the

Club!

Call ahead to make reservations and have the Club kitchen staff prepare your dove after a day of hunting.

There are plenty of events planned for the next few months, so check out the rest of the newsletter for more information and details of upcoming events.

I hope you've been able to join us to wish Summer a celebratory farewell with our traditional Labor Day Weekend festivities at the pool and on the golf course. Stay tuned for announcements of our BCC Annual Men's Invitational sometime this week. Even better, come on out today to catch some of our finalist players!

We had a lovely little style show in August featuring our pro-shop collaboration with Blue Ribbon Country Store. Come back again for some women's fall fashion with our annual show collaboration with Wicker Basket boutique. More details are below.

August Highlights

August was our last Summer fling with some great golf tournaments, a back-to-school fashion show featuring styles from the Pro Shop, and of course the festivities of Labor Day Weekend. We are always sad to see pool season close, so thank you and best wishes to all our lifeguards as they go back to school. Looking forward to next year already!

Hope everyone has had a great summer!

Ladies' House Committee is so excited for the upcoming events this fall. First and foremost, mark your calendars for September 26th for our fourth annual Beeville Style Show. Wicker Basket has a beautiful lineup of clothing ready to showcase for us all! With this being the club's 80th anniversary, we will be doing "hats off to 80 years of fashion". Get with Leticia Muñoz for your ticket or table reservation.

Next up: November 7th we will have our annual Wild Game Dinner. Then on to the Christmas festivities. More details to come.

If you’re interested in being a part of LHC, our next meeting will be held Wednesday, September 4th at 7:00 PM in the Gallery room at BCC.

From the Golf Shop

August was another great month for Golf. The August tournaments went smooth. The Labor Day men’s invitational is currently being held. The next tournament on the schedule is the One man scramble on September 21st . Call the Pro Shop to sign up.

Please remember to call the Golf Shop at 361-358-1216 prior to coming out to play so staff can ensure carts are readily available for you.

The Pro-Shop Outfitted by Blue Ribbon

The Pro Shop hosted a fun little Back to School style show on the 8^th that had lots of cute kids modeling! We even talked a few grown-ups into participating in it. All of the polos featured in the style show are now available at the club. We also had a special appearance by the Pettus Cheerleader squad wearing Game Day outfits from Blue Ribbon. Short but sweet little event. Thank you to Susan Crumrine for chaperoning the little ones & Alan Pilgrim for being our MC.

The Pro Shop is stocked & ready for you. New Yeti cups will be in by the first week of September. If you special ordered one, I will reach out to you. There are some neat things coming soon so be on the lookout.
