Gathering Waters Craft Fair
It is hard to believe that the first Gathering Waters Craft Fair is underway with a robust committee paving the way. Our fair will take place November 19th and 20th, both indoors and outside at the Lower School. There will be craft activities, a school store, vendors, a parent collaborative art table, a raffle, a silent auction, a children's store, food,a talent show and a second hand quality toys and clothes tent. In future newsletters committee members will share more details and ways you can get involved. Please feel free to get in touch with any thoughts you have to add to the celebration.

Spotlight On...
If there is something more powerful than destiny,
this must be the human being
who bears their destiny unshaken.
—Rudolf Steiner
During the Autumn season, Rudolf Steiner recognized that human beings, just like the natural world, are beginning to inwardly settle down for the dark winter months. He equated this season to a time to gather our strength and courage around us and prepare for the months ahead. In the quiet dark of winter, we have the opportunity to look deeply at ourselves and at our lives to this point so that we can discover if we are still aligned with our destinies. For our children, this is the work required to step into their destinies. It requires bravery to look deeply at ourselves much like the bravery a knight gathered to slay a dragon.
An Invitation to First Friday Coffee
The Gathering Waters Parent Council invites all student's parents and guardians to join us the First Friday of every month for a time to get together as a community. Our first 'First Friday' will be Friday, October 1st at 8:15 am in the Lower School (98 S. Lincoln Street) parking lot. We will have coffee, tea and baked goods to share with anyone who is able to come! We look forward to our first time to gather as a community since the start of the school year!
Outdoor Gear at Wholesale Costs
Are your kids ready for the great outdoors this year? Gathering Waters has been given an exciting opportunity by Oakiwear, an online retailer passionate about making high quality outdoor gear for toddlers and kids, to place a Wholesale order for outerwear. Wholesale prices are discounted at about 50% off and it’s only 10% of the total cost of your order for shipping. Wholesale orders at this discounted price do not allow for returns or backorders so, if you’d like to place an order please check the website Oaki.com for current inventory options and colors. Specify a first and second choice on colors and designs when ordering so that we can do our best to get everything as inventory is not guaranteed.

Attached is an order form that can be filled out and returned to class reps by Friday, October 8, 2021. Once orders come in, the Parent Council will distribute the goods and collect payment via check or Venmo at that time.
**Please do not place your order online at their website as you will not get the wholesale pricing!**
**If your family is unable to cover the costs, we have had a generous school family offer to buy some of the items needed. If your family needs support in purchasing items for your student, please contact Justin Somma ([email protected]) with the items they will need for this school year and he will be in touch regarding what can be ordered for your family after the 8th**
** If you are unsure who your class rep is, contact Sara Norris, ([email protected]) to be connected with them!**
