New Program at Sparrow House

We are excited to share the news with you that Sparrow House Outreach is launching a new program called Welcome Home! The program focuses on helping newly housed individuals and families get settled in their new homes with furnishings, housewares, and more so that they have the basic necessities to live independently.

Often when someone receives the exciting news that they have been chosen for an apartment, it can feel overwhelming because the only items they own are in their backpack. They are thrilled to have a home and private space of their own, yet they are limited to sleeping on a blanket on the floor. Creating a comfortable space fosters dignity, a sense of normalcy, and confidence for becoming self-sustainable.

If you would like to pass along furniture, small appliances, TVs, kitchenware, or decor that you no longer need, please consider donating to the folks we serve. Meet Brian

Sparrow House volunteer Brian is a man of many talents. His craftsmanship in woodworking and keen eye for detail have created many beautiful features at our center in Mendham. Brian also enjoys serving with us in Newark and interacting with those in need. When Brian isn't busy beautifying spaces or serving, he enjoys challenging bike rides and going for long runs.

Sisters of Christian Charity

Thank you to Sisters of Christian Charity, Mendham for donating fleece tops, sweatshirts, and sweatpants from the Milton Hershey School! With chilly weather on the way, the folks we serve in Newark are thrilled to receive warm clothing!

Project Readiness

A huge thank-you to Project Readiness for providing backpacks filled with school supplies for the kiddos we serve! We're not sure who was more overjoyed - the children or the parents! Families' budgets stayed intact and the young ones were excited to begin the school year.

Opened Toiletries Wanted
