September Next Wave Newsletter
With the first official day of fall coming up on September 23, 2019, it’s time to start thinking about the cooler weather ahead. Cooler autumn temperatures mean using less water outdoors, and more water savings for you! Here are three tips and ideas on how to conserve water all season long:
1. Change your Sprinkler Timer: Less irrigation is needed in cooler weather. Adjust your sprinkler timer and remember, watering or irrigating any landscape within 48 hours of measurable precipitation is prohibited by law.
2. Redirect Downspouts to Capture Water: Redirect downspouts outside your home to capture rainwater and then direct it to the garden or plant area.
3. Install a Rain Sensor: A rain sensor detects rain and shuts off an irrigation system.
Also, the start of fall means that the school year is in full swing! Teachers, don’t forget to prepare your Edubucks applications. The deadline for this year’s submissions will be Thursday, October 31, 2019 by 5:00 P.M. For more information and to apply, please visit
