If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a park ranger, the best way to find out is - ask a park ranger! Jonathan Polk would tell you,
"I love every part of being a ranger, especially the people I get to meet and interact with every day."
Jonathan started his career on the other side of our state as a ranger in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As a lifelong visitor to the Outer Banks, he's now living his dream of working as the Lead District Ranger at Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
From climbing the lighthouse to helping a young girl catch her first fish, Jonathan shares with us this month why he is so passionate about protecting our national parks for future generations.
