SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER 2021 EDITION

As we welcome the official start to fall, we look forward to the holiday season ahead, spending time with loved ones, and cooler weather on the Space Coast.
We have a number of items on the horizon, including our annual picnic at F. Burton Smith Park in Cocoa. I know many of you, including myself, are looking forward to seeing everyone’s families together for the first time as a group really since the beginning of the pandemic. It promises to be a lovely event with lots to do—and I cannot wait to see you all there!
As I informed everyone last week, former Clerk Mitch Needelman has been found incompetent to stand retrial in the multimillion dollar BlueWare scandal that rocked our office and our county. While his trial may be put on hold for now and perhaps for good, I am happy with the convictions of his two co-defendants.
With these convictions and the latest news regarding Mitch, we will move forward with our civil lawsuits against Rose Harr’s corporations and recoup as much of the money taken from our office as possible. We are confident in the abilities of our outside litigation counsel, GrayRobinson, to assist us in these endeavors.
Additionally, new badges have been distributed to each of you. Their individual colors correspond to your time with the organization: white for less than 10 years; silver for less than 20 years; and gold for 20 years and higher. These are to be worn throughout the workday and are to be visible at or near your lapel so that customers or other agencies, such as the Sheriff, can identify you as a Clerk employee.
Halloween will be quickly approaching as we round out October. While employees are encouraged to use their creativity to imagine a fun costume, please make sure to keep your outfit work appropriate and within the boundaries established by HR and the dress code. As always, if you have questions, please make sure to ask your supervisor or manager if in doubt.
As always, I hope you and your family are happy, healthy, and safe. My door is always open and I look forward to hearing from you!
Warmly,
|

Gina Milford's last day with the Clerk was Friday, September 3. Gina worked as a programmer in our I.T. Department at Parkway, and spent many years learning the ins and outs of our systems!
We wish her the best of luck in retirement!

National Cheese Pizza Day
The Assistant Supervisors helped us celebrate National Cheese Pizza Day by selling pizza slices and drinks throughout the office on September 24!
A big thanks to all of the volunteers who helped with ordering, getting the pizza and drinks, and setting and cleaning up! We sold all of the pizza in one day with no left overs!

Jennifer Hill
Titusville Records Center
Gold Star Winner
"Jennifer is very deserving to receive this award and for many reasons. I have listed just a few of those reasons below.
Jennifer is the primary person responsible for distribution of forms throughout the office and for law enforcement agencies. Jennifer found out that the fine charts were going to be amended January 1, 2021, she divided up the remaining inventory between the agencies and also included a notice informing the agencies of the upcoming changes.
Jennifer always comes up with new ideas to help streamline our area and keeps us tidy and organized. As well as, offering her assistance in other areas of the Clerk’s Office.
Jennifer is also the person everyone calls to catch critters. She has assisted rodents, snakes, turtles, ducks, lizards, and spiders by either placing them in safer areas or laid to rest.
Thank you, Jennifer, for all you do!"
