One day last year my son came home from school very upset. He said one of his teachers told the class that there is no reason for anyone to get a grade lower than an A in her class. Well, my son, who already had set the high expectation of an A on himself, was currently tracking towards a B in that class and he was devastated by the announcement.
Did the teacher really say that? What is a parent to do? Fortunately, parent teacher conferences were around the corner and I decided to use that time to discuss the matter with the teacher.
