SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER NEWSLETTER | 2023

HELLO

FALL

Forget Summer. Fall is where it's at. Feed the Need of Putnam County is in full swing for the school year.

The Roaring 20s Gala

On September 30, 2023 FTN held the 5th annual Fall Fundraiser! A fantastic time was had by all! We would like to thank the sponsors, others who attended the event and the army of volunteers who helped pull it all together! There will be a Gala Newsletter coming out soon!

Volunteers Packing Family Boxes

A volunteer team from HCA Florida Putnam Hospital and other fantastic volunteers gathered in the FTN warehouse to pack family boxes. The food boxes were distributed to the schools to be given to families in need! The team worked hard sorting and packing the boxes, and we are confident that the families receiving this extra food will be very thankful. As groceries get more expensive, it has become harder for families to make ends meet. We are grateful to all our partners for helping us provide this food.

Thank you to all of these AWESOME VOLUNTEERS!

Volunteers (not all are pictured): Denise Duty Troiano, Ashley Cole, Naiomie Bisessar, Brandi Traxler, Carlene Emery, Diana and Roger Jones and Denise Bramlitt

Volunteer Dinner

Feed the Need of Putnam County is SO BLESSED to have so many faithful volunteers! They deserve to have a little pampering now and then! FTN held a volunteer dinner at Corky Bells to show appreciation! Unfortunately all couldn't attend, but the word is that those who did had a wonderful time.

VOLUNTEERS, WE APPRECIATE YOU!!!

Azalea City Brewing Company

They chose Feed the Need of Putnam County as their August Round-Up beneficiary! Azalea City Brewing Company is always supportive of FTN and many other local non-profits! Spread some love to them and check them out!

October is JUICE BOX month!! Even as the temperature cools down, the kids still like to run and play, which makes them very thirsty! We send home juice boxes with the food every weekend to 800 kids each week! Drop off at Bramlitts on HWY 19. Please take pictures and share them with us!

September Jelly Drives!!

As usual we were BLOWN AWAY to see the amount of jelly that the Putnam County Community collected for local food-insecure students! We would like to give our sincerest gratitude to all of the churches, that have begun to collect or continually collect, and all of the community members that stop by with bags of jelly and many other much needed items. Also, a special thanks to HCA Putnam Hospital, Ameris Bank and Haven Attic Resale Store Palatka for holding a jelly drive in September!!

Send us your pictures if you have any of you, your church or group with the collection! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Haven Attic Resale Store: Palatka, Thank you!

Check out this article for a little insight into the rising food prices that are affecting us all and mostly the food insecure families we help every week.

"The short of it: Rampant inflation, global supply issues, and unpredictable weather and disease all impact the price fluctuations. But it wasn’t all bad news—there may be some signs of prices evening out soon."
