We are celebrating September as Gratitude month since September 21st is Gratitude Day. Giving thanks can make you happier and is a great stress buster. You have several positive influences in your life. Use this challenge to recognize them and say thank you!

Thirty activities will be listed on the Gratitude Challenge blog. The challenge is to complete one activity each day and share it in the mindfulness chat room. The blog and MS Teams Mindfulness Chatroom details for the challenge will be sent via email after registration. Share this challenge with your team and colleagues too.

The EG Connected Learning Challenge carries over into the month of September as well. We were given just enough funds to cover our operating expenses this year. It is imperative that we all take part in this challenge to give Ability a fighting chance at additional funds we can use in our communities and scholarship program. We have only had 10 members log their qualifying volunteer hours to date. We need all 3,407 of you to do this.

The easiest thing you can do right now is to write 4 notes of encouragement to students who will be served by an AT&T Connected Learning Center. Just 4 Notes = 1 Hour of volunteer time. CLICK HERE to write your notes and follow the link on the site after you submit your letters to enter your volunteer time in Benevity. Remember to choose ABILITY when submitting your time.

There are many other volunteer opportunities that qualify. As a reminder, prizes will be awarded to the EGs that have the highest number of AT&T employee volunteer participants (not the highest number of volunteer hours). You can find more information about the challenge at our Resource Center > $150 EG Connected Learning Challenge! There’s even a Benevity app, making it even easier to report your volunteer time on the go.

Finally, please view an informative and moving video on Schizophrenia and the Cost of Mental Illness Act, created by our own Ability members. For more information on how to support this Act (HR7483), visit the Schizophrenia and Psychosis Action Alliance at https://sczaction.org/insight-initiative/societal-costs/action-script/
