The City of Rancho Cordova is fighting mail theft and other crimes using high-tech tools and the Rancho Cordova Police Department’s (RCPD) new Real Time Information Center (RTIC), as well as forging a unique collaboration between RCPD and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS).

Raccoon Rescue Mission
In the quiet hours of the night, strange cries coming from a Rancho Cordova backyard woke several neighbors. The noises didn’t stop by morning, so the residents went to investigate. To their surprise, they found a juvenile raccoon with its leg stuck in a picket fence! They decided it was time to call Animal Services. Animal Control Officers responded to the scene and, with some creative thinking, were able to free the injured animal.
