The Potter County Resource and Recovery Center had it's grand opening on August 15th.
It was opened by Potter County Drug and Alcohol and Mental Health departments.
The center was established to be a safe and secure location to support those addressing addiction and/or mental health issues, whether teenagers or adults.
September is National Recovery Month, an annual observance since 1989 that promotes evidence-based treatment, celebrates the recovery community, and honors the dedication of service providers. Led by SAMHSA, Recovery Month raises awareness around mental health and addiction recovery while highlighting stories of hope and healing.
We do our best to share events throughout the month as they pop up in the Region to keep you informed.
Certified Family Recovery Specialists (CFRS) are credentialed through the PA Certification board and their role is to help the loved ones and families move through the recovery process. The CFRS is a trained professional that shares their experience with other families and loved ones, understanding the stigma that goes along with substance use disorder and how it impacts families. They are there to provide support, advocate for family recovery and offer assistance navigating the recovery system.
CFRS services are available from various providers around the region- connect with your local drug and alcohol county office for more information on CFRS in your area.
