MANAGER'S MESSAGE
Dear Highland Shores Residents,
Summer is coming to a close, including pool season at Highland Shores. Read on for important community updates.

Board Nomination Form:
The Highland Shores Owners Association’s nominating committee is currently seeking qualified individuals with a desire to take a leadership role within the Association. The election will be held November 18 at the Annual Meeting. Serving as a director can be a very rewarding experience. Should you wish to become a nominee for the Board of Directors, please fill out and return this form by October 5.

Pool Closing Information:
Pool 3 closes on Monday, September 6. Pool 2 closes on September 30. A full schedule can be found on our website.

Pool 2 Hours September 6 – September 30:
Lap Swim – Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 8:00 AM (No Lap Swim September 6)
Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Friday: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Updates to Design Guidelines, Collection Policy, & Committee Charters:
The Design Guidelines and Review Procedures for New Construction and Modifications were recently updated by the New Construction Committee Members and the Modification Committee Members.

Areas that were added and/or changed were:
  • 6.2 Materials and Colors 6)
  • 7.9 Fencing and Screening
  • 7.9A Security Measures
  • 7.31 Swimming Pools

The updated Design Guidelines can be found on our website.

The Board of Directors recently updated the Modification Committee Charter, New Construction Committee Charter, and the Collection Policy which can also be found on our website.

Labor Day Holiday:
The office will close on Friday, September 3 at 3:00 PM for the Labor Day holiday. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, September 7.

Important ARC Information:
If you plan to make any outdoor improvements, please remember to submit your application. The Modification and New Construction Committees will meet September 3 and September 17. Submittals are due the Wednesday prior by 3:00 PM. If you have specific guideline questions, please contact John Evans.

Haunted Trail 2021 Update
Due to the continued rise in COVID-19 cases, the Haunted Trail, which was scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 23, has been cancelled. Stay tuned for next month's newsletter that will feature an event to benefit Children's Advocacy Center for North Texas.

Fall Community-Wide Garage Sales

Whether you're planning your own sale or getting ready to find some great bargains, please join us for the Community-Wide Garage Sales this fall. Homeowners set their own hours for their individual garage sales. We provide advertising and banners at the entrances of the community.
Paper Shredding Day
Saturday, September 25
2:00 - 5:00 PM


Mobile, on-site paper shredding ensures that all discarded information is protected from unauthorized use eliminating the possibility of fraud or identity theft. Magic Shred Mobile Document Shredding service will be at Pilot Knoll Park. This event is free and for Highland Village residents only. Business shredding is not allowed.
Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck
Thursday, September 30
5:00 - 8:00 PM

Back by popular demand! Cousins Maine Lobster Food Truck will be at the Community Center serving up the best real Maine lobster. Celebrate the end of pool season with some delicious Cousins Maine Lobster. Download their app to place your order ahead and skip the line.

Bad Dawg Tennis Tennis Academy offers junior (ages 5-13) classes and adult classes at Tennis Courts 5-8.
