Byers Subaru Dublin & Earth Day /
Captain Recycle

Byers Subaru Dublin, of Columbus, OH, chose to make a difference in their community, by cleaning up at Carriage Place Community Center, on Earth Day 2023. Employees volunteered their time and effort to remove dead plants and weeds, thereby creating space for new growth.
Captain Recycle

Captain Recycle, also known as Bob Miller, definitely makes a positive mark on the environment! As a Subaru Sales Specialist at Byers (and a loyal owner of Subarus since 1984), Bob also serves as a goodwill ambassador for recycling and reducing waste with his alter ego, Captain Recycle.

Bob has spent time at elementary schools in the area, making students aware of the importance of the eco-friendly Three Rs -- Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. "The most important message I share with children is that we have only one earth. We must take care of our planet, and each child can make a difference."
EPA/Energy Star Portfolio Manager Webinar
Follow-up Comments -- Feedback Needed
Did you watch the Energy Star Portfolio Manager Webinar on August 28? If so, please provide your feedback. If not, you have an opportunity to watch a video of the webinar and then contribute your comments. Please provide your comments no later than Tuesday, September 26. Complete details are in the information below, provided by Energy Star:

The 1-100 ENERGY STAR score serves to assess the energy performance of a property relative to its peers, accounting for variations in climate, weather, and business activities at the property. To identify the key business activities that explain the variation in energy use among U.S. vehicle dealerships -- and then normalize for differences in the level of those activities among dealerships -- EPA conducted a statistical analysis of data collected by the National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA).

The resulting 1-100 ENERGY STAR score model adjusts for number of workers, average number of vehicles in inventory, heating and cooling degree days, and percent of the building that is heated and cooled. A score of 50 on the 1-100 scale indicates median energy performance, while a score of 75 indicates that a vehicle dealership is more energy efficient than 75% of similar dealerships nationwide and is eligible to earn ENERGY STAR certification from the EPA.

Find more details -- including an explanation of how 1-100 ENERGY STAR scores are calculated and the technical details behind this particular score model -- on our web site.

We presented an overview of the proposed 1-100 ENERGY STAR score for U.S. vehicle dealerships, including:
  • The data used to develop the score
  • The 1–100 scoring model
  • How you can preview your expected score
  • How to submit comments
We recorded it for those who weren’t able to attend. Just click the link below.
