A week ago Saturday we had a beautiful day for an outing! The women of the Margaret Home participated in a family-friendly event -- the first annual "Race for the Rest of Us," sponsored by the Rotary Club of Canandaigua. The “race” was a 0.5k stroll along the picturesque shoreline of Canandaigua Lake to raise funds and awareness that will go towards a scholarship fund. Stops included mini-golf and ice cream!

Liz Gilges was instrumental in organizing this and frankly it would have been impossible without the van that Hoselton donated to TMH! That van has opened doors for the women to relax and enjoy the lighter side of life while working on the more difficult aspects during the week. Such an important part of life: rest and relaxation after work.

What's New at TMH?

• Our newest resident mom has been doing well in the program, settled in quickly and working with our educational and career coaches to pursue a job and later apply to college for perhaps the spring semester. She is pregnant and due in December with a baby boy.
• The other moms are all doing great with everyone’s support. They are all working and/or attending school and have gained so much confidence and independence from the time they have entered the program.
• We are currently working on intake to receive more mothers in the home.
• An exciting makeover! Last week we had our old carpeting taken out and replaced with flooring on the main floor and bedroom floor, along with new carpeting in the stairwells.
