WORSHIP SERVICES
FROM THE DEACONS

The Deacons are delighted to announce that Rev. Will Seals will be joining us as our intentional interim pastor.

Will describes himself as “an experienced leader with enthusiasm to create meaningful worship services –to be an inspiring preacher and teacher – to help people of all ages grow spiritually – and to work with churches to gain more clarity about their identity, mission and vision to the people and communities they serve.”

Will is an ordained American Baptist minister who most recently served as the interim pastor of First Baptist Church in Chelmsford MA. Prior to that Will was interim co-pastor of First Baptist Church in Beverly, MA, and the settled pastor of First Baptist Church in Greenfield MA

Will is a graduate of Morehouse College, earned his Master of Divinity degree in Theology from Colgate Rochester Divinity School, and did further study in Narrative Leadership and United Church of Christ (UCC) Polity at Andover Newton Theological School.

He lives in Wilbraham MA and enjoys being an indoor enthusiast – cooking, baking, home décor, visiting art museums, listening to music, antiquing – as well as doing outdoor stuff like walking, dining out and taking road trips to fun places.

Will is excited to join Trinity Church as our interim pastor. Will describes himself as open, welcoming and affirming. He is attracted to our church because of our commitment to Christ, our engagement in ministry, our advocacy for social justice.

Will’s first Sunday with us will be October 2nd. Please plan to join us for a welcoming reception folllowing the worship service.

FROM OUR MUSIC DIRECTOR

Hello Trinity Community,

I am thankful to have been a part of the Summer operations of Trinity Church! From parking lot services, Lay preaching, testimonials, hymn sings, and more, it has been a joy! The heart of our church is definitely connected to its missions and outreach!

If you have not heard through the grapevine, the music camp was postponed to a time later in the school year. Even though the student participation was not as high as we hoped, our church was ready for it! But don’t fret about it, because the preparation and work we put into it will help us be ready when we bring it back out for that “right time of year.” Thank you to all of those who volunteered to help during the week and to those who donated efforts, money, and creativity!

As we turn the page into Fall, we are led by faith into new ideas and experiences. We’re excited to welcome our new Interim Pastor, Rev. Will Seals. I pray that God helps him bring inspiring leadership and guidance for the future of our congregation. Until Rev. Seals begins in October, the worship and leadership teams will be assembling some great worship opportunities for our community that explore different ways to connect with God.

Another music opportunity for our church community is the upcoming start of rehearsals for Hand Bell Choir and Adult Voice Choir. These music ensembles are intended for anyone ages 16+ who wants to help bring music to our church community. No music experience is required, only willingness and dedication. Each group will have weekly rehearsals in preparation for a Music-focused service during the Christmas season. If you have any interest in these groups, please complete the INTEREST SURVEY Google Form attached in this newsletter. You may also reach out to myself at: trinitynorthboroughmusic@gmail.com or Tom Danforth at: tomdan4@gmail.com if you have questions or special considerations.

As the Summer season comes to a close, we find ourselves stepping into new ideas and adventures! I challenge everyone to be present, try new things, and listen for God’s voice all around you. With every week, our church gains new ground on its outreach. Together, we can make our piece of the world the best it can be!

Until We Meet Again,

Scott Arnold (he/him)

Music Director of

Trinity Church of Northborough

FROM OUR CE DIRECTOR

It feels like a special treat to be starting a normal fall for our youth and families! Our Faith Formation will now take place during a children’s time during each Worship Service beginning September 11th. Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to stay in service and also enjoy some time specifically geared towards them.

We also plan to offer a wide variety of programming for kids and teens of all ages and their families! Please check out the flyers below for information about our Trinity Tots program, Community A.C.T.S. (a new community service group specifically designed for youth) and our OWL Healthy Relationships and Sexual Health class for 7-9th graders.

Please see Sherry during Applefest on 9/17 to say hi and take part in a free craft! Stay tuned for more fun this fall with our Faith Fair coming in November.

We need your help! In order to run a variety of programming for our youth, we need volunteers. Do you enjoy being around our littlest members, love to make a difference in the community, or have an interest in being a sub for a class? Is it more your speed to help decorate the church altar or tell a story during our children's moment?

Please reach out to Sherry at trinitycenorthboro@gmail.com or 508-254-2217.

FROM OUR BUILDING STUDY COMMITTEE

September 2022 Update

The Building Study Committee has been working through the summer to finish gathering information about the church building. In this process, we have talked with a number of individuals and town organizations about the needs they see for space in the town. At the end of this, we will be putting together all the information about the building to present to the Deacons and the congregation.

We are compiling:

  • A summary of the building spaces and programs.
  • A summary of the church’s financial, membership, and stewardship history
  • Information about the maintenance and upgrades needed
  • A list of the options we see for maintaining and using the building into the future.

We will share this information with you. We are planning a meeting following worship on October 16, 2022. This will be a very important meeting with information pertaining to the future of Trinity’s building.

There will be more information in the “This Week” emails as we get closer to the meeting date.

As usual, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact any member of the committee.
