Nearing the Finish Line
Dear Trinity Church Family,
What an amazing response we have had to the Capital Campaign! Thanks to the generosity and faithfulness of this church family, we have already met our $500,000 goal and exceeded it!
Just this past Sunday, our first Commitment Sunday we received substantial additional commitments.
Let’s keep the momentum going! This Sunday, September 13, is our second and final Commitment Sunday. If you have not yet made a commitment, we invite you to prayerfully consider what you can give as we continue this important work together. Volunteers will be at a table in the Fellowship Hall before and after the service to provide you with a Letter of Commitment and answer your questions.
On Sunday, September 20, we will conclude the Capital Campaign with Celebration Sunday. We will gather for a festive worship service at 10:00 a.m. in the sanctuary, followed by a celebratory catered dinner at 4:30 p.m. in Fellowship Hall.
As we celebrate the goodness and abundance of God in our lives and in the life of Trinity Church, we are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped make this Capital Campaign a success. Thank you for your generosity, your faith, and your commitment to helping Trinity Church live its mission: to fill its people with the love of God and share God’s love with all the world.

Applefest Cafe
Applefest is coming this month! Mark your calendars for Friday, September 25th and Sunday September 26th.
We will be making apple crisp to sell at the Cafe on Thursday morning, September 24th, at 9am and Friday afternoon, Septmber 25th.
We also need help with set-up Friday night, and Saturday in our Cafe, basket raffle area, Thrift Shop, and parking lot.

Hello Trinity Church Community!
I hope you have enjoyed the variety of weekly services this Summer. I am very proud of everyone who helped with making them happen. No matter what role you played, from setting up chairs & tables to giving a full sermon, your efforts have not gone unnoticed and are extremely appreciated.
I also want to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported our substitute service accompanist in my absence this past Sunday, September 6. Seeing how we all come together to make these Summer services happen is truly inspiring. That being said…our service in the world continues.
September brings new opportunities to connect with God, his creation, and his message of Love. Here is a quick look at what music things are happening at Trinity for the rest of September:

September 13th - The Worship Band will support our service music for our first week returning to the Sanctuary. Music will highlight the Greatness of God and support us as we honor our commitments toward the Capital Campaign.
- We also will begin using “Jesus Loves the Little Children” again as a musical Invitation to the Faith Formations Moment each 2nd Sunday of the month.

September 20th - In honor of “Celebration Sunday”, when we thank God for all of his blessings, the Hand Bell Choir will share a piece called “Joyful, Joyful” for Special Music.

September 27th - The Voice Choir will be sharing one of their AppleFest songs, called “Let It Shine”, for the the Special Music.
The Song of the Month I have chosen for September is the chorus of “Awesome God” by Rich Mullins. It is a powerful short Praise we have sung in the past, but we will use it to open our service with some joyous Praise. You can listen to it HERE. And for a Sung Benediction, we will return to the benediction response of the “3-Fold Amen” (#314 in Chalice Hymnal).
I am very excited for all of the Trinity music ensembles to resume rehearsals this month. Below are the expected rehearsal times for each group.

Sundays at 11:30am - Adult Voice Choir begins weekly rehearsals in the 2nd Floor Parlor Room starting on September 13th.

Wednesdays at 5:00pm - Worship Band begins every other week rehearsals in Sanctuary continuing on September 9th

Wednesdays at 7:00pm - Hand Bell Choir begins weekly rehearsals in the 2nd Floor Parlor Room continuing on September 9th.
We hope everyone can make it out for AppleFest on September 25th-26th. We plan to host again the Sinfonietta Chamber Orchestra for an evening concert on that Friday at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary, as well as the following morning to kick-off the live music at the Trinity “Stage”, lasting all day and featuring several other musicians/groups from our community, including the Trinity Voice Choir.
I hope everyone has a great start to the Fall season, and may each day bring you closer to God.

Happy September!
We are excited to welcome everyone back! Faith Formations will kick off on September 13th.
Our lesson will focus around how God is with us always, when we set goals and try new things. We look forward to seeing you all there! We will begin our normal schedule ot the second and fourth Sundays being our gathering time in our Faith Formation room.

NST Potluck
On Sunday, Aug 23rd, the Outreach Team and the Northboro Neighborhood Support Team sponsored a potluck dinner for our congregation and the three immigrant families that we have had the opportunity to get to know and support over the last year: Rose and her son Mark from Afghanistan, Michael and his mom Loupenard from Haiti, and Rania and her three children from Lebanon. It was a great time to socialize with the families and honor them for their resilience and courage.

Worcester-area Climate Hope Affiliates
In June, members of Trinity, First Congregational Church in Shrewsbury, and the UCC
Church in Worcester met to initiate a chapter of Climate Hope Affiliates, a joint initiative
of the United Church of Christ and Creation Justice Ministries aimed at addressing
climate change issues.
Shortly after our organizational meeting we met with Rep. Jim McGovern to advocate for legislation concerning climate change, and particularly the effect on our natural resources of AI data centers. One of our founders, Andrea Pereira, wrote an opinion piece that was published in the Worcester Telegram.
The article is featured on the UCC website under UCC in the News, and the work of our affiliate will be discussed at the next webinar of the Climate Hope Affiliates national meeting on Sept 19th.This is quite an honor for our fledgling group. We will have a watch-party at Trinity on the 19th at 1pm. Please join us!
It is the opinion of the Climate Hope Affiliates that communities of faith are the best
organizations for battling climate change. We are charged by God to be stewards of all
that has been given us, and that includes the environment. We have a responsibility to
save our planet for future generations. Our local Climate Hope Affiliates chapter is
already working to make a change.

CHA is planning to show a documentary on the East Memphis TN "Colossus" Space XAi supercenter. It will be followed by a postcard writing session for anyone interested in supporting the upcoming data center regulation bills.The movie will be shown at the Shrewsbury Public Library on Sept 30th, 6:30-8 pm.

Blessings Boutique Updates
The thrift shop is getting ready to transition to the busy fall season and Applefest!
The shop is back to being open 3 days a week, Wed, Fri, and Sat 10am - 2pm., starting on Friday, Sept. 11th. (We will be closed from 9/2 - 9/9 due to the insulation project).
Don't forget to come in and shop during Applefest, Saturday, Sept. 26th. We'll be open 9 - 3:30 featuring new fall clothing and seasonal decorative items. The vintage garage shoppe, located in the garage in our parking lot, will also be open selling small furniture pieces, artwork, and more!
Clothing donations are not being accepted at this time, but household donations as well as small furniture pieces and vintage items are welcome and can be dropped off during thrift shop hours.

- Be direct. Talk openly and matter-of-factly about suicide.

Support The LGBTQ+ Community with us!
Join us for the Pride Worcester 2026 “March” and then the Pride Festival on Saturday, September 12. The “March” is an easy ½ mile route. Line up is from 1:00PM-2:00PM at La Femme Bar (62 Green St). The “March” conveniently ends at the Festival on Worcester Common.
This year there will be over 200 booths featuring foods, crafts, businesses, social service agencies, and churches. There will also be a live music stage. Trinity’s booth will have festive give-a-ways and publicity to highlight our church from
1:00PM-7:00PM. This is a very fun, positive event!
If you would like to march, help out at the booth with us and or need a ride please let me know.

Stop by to try your hand at our Pinewood Derby track, Rain Gutter Regatta, and inflatable archery, and meet Pack 55 families and leaders. Parents and children are invited to ask questions and learn more about the exciting opportunities Cub Scouting offers.

I would like to send a HUGE thank you to everyone that worked so hard amid the ongoing insulation project to get the Sanctuary & Fellowship Hall cleaned and ready for the big Wedding Ceremony & Reception that took place here at Trinity on
Saturday, August 22, 2026.
Both the Ceremony and Reception could not have gone more perfectly than it did.
Ravi & Puja (Groom & Bride) were very happy that all went so smoothly.
