Trexler Scout Reservation Update

On August 5th close to five hundred Scouters and Alumni attended the 95th anniversary celebration and decommissioning ceremony at Settlers Camp, Trexler Scout Reservation. Certainly, an emotional day for all in attendance as Scouters reminisced and reflected on their personal experiences at Trexler Scout Reservation. Special thanks to the following teams of Minsi Trails Council for pulling together the celebration and ceremony: Akelaland Camp Staff, Camp Minsi Staff, Heritage Committee, Order of the Arrow, Settlers Camp Staff and the Shooting Sports Committee.

Conversations are currently underway between The Valor Clinic, Trexler Veterans Initiative and Minsi Trails surrounding the future use of Trexler Scout Reservation by members of Minsi Trails Council. After several preliminary discussions the tentative plan is to begin in 2024 and dedicate specific weekends for Scout use. Currently, the plans are to set aside two weekends in the spring and two weekends in the fall. As more dates and details get confirmed we will certainly share as soon as possible.

As we move forward into the Fall, we enter our Recruitment season. Many of your Packs, Troops, Crews and Posts that may have shut down in the Summer Months are starting to plan your Join Scout Nights. To serve you better we have started to organize our social media geofencing efforts.

Once your unit sets up their Join Scout Nights or any recruitment activities you have planned be sure to reach out to your District Professional with information on your event.

As you know, Scouting is so much more than camping. It prepares kids for life. Because of you, boys and girls throughout our nation are learning skills that can be critical during times of uncertainty including first aid, healthcare, fire and EMS, and law enforcement. Thank you for all you do to make it possible for kids to learn these lifesaving skills through Scouting.
