OSERS recently released a letter on the importance of continued collaboration between special education and vocational rehabilition (VR) even though students may be accessing educational services differently than in the past. The letter encourages schools and VR to use innovative strategies to further engage students and parents in transition and pre-employment transition services (Pre-ETS).
The Workforce Innovation Technical Assistance Center (WINTAC), National Technical Assistance Center on Transition (NTACT), and TransCen have released a new guide that provides processes and steps necessary to build effective collaboration at the local level; specifically between educators, VR counselors, parents, and other staff involved in supporting students with disabilities with employment.
