Largest employers for McKenzie County 2018

Delta Constructors has reclaimed the title as largest employer in McKenzie County for 2018 as compiled by Job Service North Dakota. Rounding out the top five include MBI Energy Services, McKenzie County School District, McKenzie County, and Nuverra Environmental Solutions. New building for heritage park

The McKenzie County Heritage Park is embarking on a building project that will provide a climate-controlled environment for display items, meeting space, office space and more. The McKenzie County Heritage Park is located at 950 2nd Ave SW, Watford City, ND.
Welcome to Watford

Hundreds are expected to come out for the Welcome to Watford celebration, as over 65 organizations and businesses set up booths to describe their services. Kids' activities, door prizes, food, and more are all planned for this free event that runs from 4:30pm-6:45pm at the Rough Rider Center on Friday, September 20.
September Economy at a Glance now available

The September Economy at a Glance is now available. Probably the biggest data of note is that McKenzie County's labor force remained over 10,000 and is actually the highest it has ever been coming in at 10,229.
Showcasing ways to get involved

A new brochure has been developed to show the many ways for folks to get involved in our community. The publication includes community groups, a selection of annual events, houses of worship and ways to get involved in local governments.
Bike shop opens doors

A new bike shop has found its way to main street Watford City. 701 Cycle and Sport opened their doors earlier this summer, expanding their presence as they also have stores in Bismarck and Dickinson.
Foundation to award over $7,000 in grants

The McKenzie County Community Foundation is accepting applications until September 28 for projects that positively affect lives in McKenzie County. Grant funds come from endowment earnings, and there is availability for more than $7000 to be awarded. For more information on how to apply visit here.
Ribbon cutting for new public works facility

The public is invited to attend a Ribbon Cutting and Open House on October 1, from 2-4:30 pm to celebrate the new location for McKenzie County Public Works. The facility is located at 1300 12th St SE, Watford City.
Grand opening for XWA airport

The much-anticipated, new regional airport is less than one month away from its projected opening. To celebrate there is a grand opening sche duled for October 5. The event will provide attendees with a behind the scenes look at the new Williston airport, and enjoy a day full of family-friendly activities and fun, including the chance to run on the airport runway!
State Finals Rodeo to come to town

Rodeo fans will be making their way to Watford City once again for the 2019 North Dakota Rodeo Association's State Finals Rodeo on September 27-28 at the McKenzie County Fairgrounds.
