Ending the Summer with a Splash

The end of summer celebration was a messy one! A favorite event that we put on in August is Messy Play Day and this year was no different. We had dozens of families attend the program where kids were encouraged to get wet, muddy, and creative.

We want to thank everyone that supports the mission of The Nature Institute by attending programs, becoming members, and giving generously.

Please consider a gift to continue this work for the rest of the year.

Autumn Flash Sale!

Get TNI Merch as a gift or for yourself.

The Nature Institute is again partnering with Schwartzkopf printing to bring some awesome clothing to our supporters. The Autumn Flash Sale will run from September 15 - October 17. It will take about 3 weeks for all the merchandise to get printed. It can them be picked up at The Nature Institute before Thanksgiving.

The link will open on September 15, so if you look right now there is nothing there. So save this email and mark your calendar so that you don't forget to find the perfect shirt, hat, and raincoat for all your favorite people.

In Harmony with Nature

An Outdoor Concert with The Mississippi as a Backdrop

Imagine the rising, falling, booming sounds of a full orchestra blending with tunes from summer song birds and croaking bullfrogs. In a special way, In Harmony with Nature celebrates the sounds of music and nature and connects people back to their roots, whether those roots are along the Mississippi River or someplace else.

Join The Nature Institute and the Alton High School Symphonic Orchestra for our revived In Harmony with Nature concert, to be held on the beautiful Mississippi Bluffs on September 26th, 2025. The event kicks off at 5:30 p.m. with a chance to picnic with your family at the Skeet Range, and the orchestra performs at 6 p.m.

Fall Planting is a Cooler Endeavor

Buy Native Plants for your Yard

Native plants beautify landscapes and help support songbirds and other cherished wildlife. A wide variety of native wildflowers, grasses, sedges, vines, shrubs, and trees supplied by three Grow Native! professional members will be available for purchase at a Missouri Prairie Foundation native plant sale organized in partnership with The Nature Institute, 2213 S. Levis Lane, Godfrey, IL 62035 on Saturday, September 13, 2025 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Grow Native! professional member vendors at this event include Green Thumb Nursery, River City Natives, and Sam’s Native Nursery. Native plants will also be sold by The Nature Institute. All vendors will donate a portion of their sale proceeds to benefit the conservation work of the Missouri Prairie Foundation.
