September is always a big month at the library!
September 15-October 15 is Hispanic Heritage Month. This is a time to celebrate the stories and contributions of Latinx people to our community. Currently on display at the Downtown Library are crafts and artworks of Mexico. Come visit us to see the displays and learn more about your Latinx neighbors. As always, our favorite way to learn about cultures is through books and so we've created reading lists for kids, for adults, Kanopy streaming movies and Libby downloads.
It's also Library Card Sign-up Month. Throughout September we share all the resources you can access with your library card. If you already have a library card, spread the word about signing up.
If you or your friends need incentive, here are some of the things you can do with your card:
Have a great month, Redwood City!

The RCPL Seed Library is ready for Fall! Stop by the cabinet in the Downtown Library Reading Room to find a rotating assortment of seeds for fall and winter crops—beets, leafy greens, herbs, cover crops, and more. Learn to grow food in any size space with tips from our nearby collection of gardening books and DVDs.
Fall is also a great time of year to sow seeds for California native wildflowers. Support our RCPL Bees and other local pollinators by sowing a packet of pollinator seeds mix. And while you are waiting for your spring blossoms, re-visit this fascinating library presentation from fine art photographers Nita Winter and Rob Badger about their work documenting California’s unique plants and landscapes.
