Hello my friends and welcome to our new eNewsletter. This will be sent out a few times a month. For up-to-date and last minute announcements, please refer to our website and/or eNews.

How I have missed you. It's been months since we had to shut our doors and since then the staff, Board of Trustees, and I have been working so hard to continue to provide you with Library services while keeping us all safe.

It's difficult for all of us to see our beautiful Library building closed even while bars, restaurants, and - as of today - schools open. (Good luck, kiddos, we're all rooting for you!) Please understand that personal and community safety are our top priorities. We have two at-risk staff members on our team and you know how important they are to the magic of our library. At the moment we have ordered some glass to encase our circulation desk and we cannot even begin to make plans to allow access before that is installed. Please continue to bear with us.

In the meantime, I would love to know what you miss most about the Library. Please fill out this form. You are not required to identify yourself, but I would be grateful if you do so that I can get in touch with you to followup. I think some of you will be surprised to find that we have found a way to provide you with what you miss most (YAY for printing!) and if we haven't, I'd like to work on that.

My observation is that browsing books is one thing we all miss and it's tricky to duplicate that sense of serendipity (the real library-school term for it). This usually means new books. I've come up with a few ideas that might take the sting out.
