First Day of Fall
Season of Creation
Each year, between September 1 and October 4, Christians around the world celebrate the Season of Creation. Through prayer, reflection, advocacy and lifestyle changes, we are encouraged to help protect and preserve the unique gifts of our planet. Each Sunday, we are invited to reflect and act on a theme related to the urgent need to attention and protection of God’s creation. This year, we partnered with Sister Irma Odabashian, CSJ who wrote and narrated the reflections for our videos.

New Associate
The CSJ charism of Unifying Love continues to call us to serve the dear neighbor as we continue to answer the call.

Use of technology and virtual commitment ceremonies are not the same as being together. However, the fact remains that the call to the CSJ Charism is alive and moving among us. We are indeed answering the call to the Charism; there is no stopping us, not even a pandemic!

Recently two novices, Chizuru Yamada and Sallie Koch made first vows via Zoom. The Concord/Carondelet High School Associate Group brought the associates into the world of virtual commitments on Saturday, August 22, 2020 by welcoming Emily Lacroix as our newest L.A. Province Associate.

Twenty attendees, which included Emily’s family, friends, CSJ sisters, our Province Leadership Team Liaison Sister Kathy Stein, CSJ and several associate members of the Concord/CHS group, joined the Commitment Ceremony via Zoom.

New SJW Arrival in Los Angeles
Our group of seven St. Joseph Workers arrived Sunday, August 23, 2020 to St. John Chrysostom Convent in Los Angeles, CA. Six of them flew in from East Coast Cities such as Tampa, Boston and New York, and one drove from Indio, CA.
