Message from the Interim President

Search Committee Commences

As your Interim President, one of the more important tasks is to administer the search for our new President/CEO. The advertisement has been out for the past six weeks and we have collected a good number of applications. The Search Committee will begin its work next week. The committee will rank the applicants and begin to schedule interviews for later this month and into October. The desired outcome is to have a finalist named and under contract by mid-November, so we have a new President starting close to the new year.

One thing I and other committee members are interested in is knowing what our members want in our new leader. Do you have a thought about what we are doing that you like or don't like? A thought of how a new president can do things differently? We would appreciate hearing your voice. Feedback on this matter will be a tremendous help for navigating the Chamber's future President. A conversation with me, our new Membership Coordinator, Jeannette Kingsbury, or anyone on our Board of Directors is most welcome. Please accept this as an invitation to help us shape our future. Feel free to call me if you have questions, ideas or just want to know how things are going.

Thank you,

Ed Larson

Lost Nation Theater
Presents
Shakespeare's Will
Thursday-Sunday, September 5-15
7:30pm Thursdays-Saturdays
2pm Saturdays & Sundays
A masterful, humorous solo show, in which the Bard's wife gets the last word by Canadian playwright Vern Thiessen. Lost Nation Theater is excited to present the play's Northeast premiere, directed by Eric Love and starring Margo Whitcomb. Inspired by the few historical facts known about The Bard, his wife Anne, and their family, Shakespeare's Will is a lively, humorous and emotional depiction of Anne Hathaway - accidental mother, proudly imperfect wife, and defiantly liberated woman in Elizabethan England. He was the most famous man in literary history. She was cloaked in silence and invisibility. Now...thanks to Vern Thiessen's marvelous play, Madame Shakespeare is having her say! For more information and to purchase your tickets, click here or call 229-0492.

The Social/Website Connection

Free!
Social media is like handing out product samples on the street. Of course you want people to try your product or service, but your real goal is to get them to walk through the door of your business! Social media posts and other platforms that aren't linked to your website are like handing out free samples with no follow-up. You might be getting a lot of engagement, but you aren't getting any customers. Maintaining a clean, modern, professional, and cohesive presence on all social media platforms presents the opportunity for your business to be discovered, your website to be visited, and new sales to be made. Register for this free workshop to learn how to utilize your business's social media and online presence to its fullest extent. To register, contact Margaret Ferguson at 477-5214 or email [email protected].
