Gabrielle Illava: From summer student to PhD

We met with Gabrielle Illava to talk about her journey in the academic research world. Gabrielle started in the CHESS program: Summer Engineering and Research for Community College Students (SERCCS). She also transferred into Cornell from the nearby Tompkins Cortland Community College (TC3) to finish her undergraduate degree in Molecular and Cell Biology, before pursuing her PhD at CLASSE, which she completed in the spring of 2023.

Recap: Success of the 2023 summer student programs

The Cornell Laboratory for Accelerator-Based Sciences and Education (CLASSE) has once again celebrated the resounding success of its 2023 summer student programs. Comprising of the four different programs across CHESS and CLASSE, these programs have proven to be transformative experiences for the participating students.

Wilson West update - Aerial fly-through

Our construction project has reached its half-way mark! The Wilson West expansion project, which will accommodate the upcoming High Magnetic Field X-Ray Beamline, remains on schedule for beneficial occupancy by November 15th. This exciting development means that we are approaching the move-in phase. We were recently able to fly a drone inside the new building to capture footage of the progress.
