September in Review
September was another wonderful and busy month at Zack’s Place. Summer is winding down, the weather is starting to get chilly, the leaves are starting to change and fall is setting in. Hard to believe that winter is right around the corner.
During the month of September we went on many field trips!! We visited Billings Farm a couple times for some fabulous farm programs. We went to the Montshire museum, very educational and always lots of fun! We went to the “Path of Life” in Windsor VT, wonderful! We went cycling with Vermont Adaptive in Lebanon on the rail trail a couple of times, awesome! We went bowling at Maple Lanes in Claremont NH, always a favorite. We went to the Woodstock County Club for Golf every Monday afternoon. We visited the HOP at Dartmouth for an amazing dance performance by Ragamala Dance Company “Written in Water”. We also saw the “Handsome and Gretel” puppet show at Pentangle. Last, but certainly not least, we are back at Artistree every Monday for our wonderful pottery classes with Fiona.
Back at Zack’s Place we pursued our creativity and got our exercise! We had art with Lolly and Bonnie, crafts with Kitty, we made greeting cards with Lynne McEvoy, we had story telling with Jools and we did photography with Holly. We made music with Kerry and more music with Kathleen and Mark and we played and pounded the drums with Ted. We worked out with Bari, we played games with Carl, and we did yoga twice a week with our team of instructors. (Tita, Lalita, Jess, Amanda and Jamie) We were busy in the kitchen too cooking with Sarah and learning nutrition with Vince, who is always entertaining. We were happy to have our awesome readers, Diane Dugan and Bettyanne McGuire join us each week and share story’s with us.
One last thing, a high light in September, every year, for all of us at ZP is going to the TUNBRIDGE FAIR!! We always have a FANTASTIC time!! This year was no different…..We ate lots of delicious food; saw many exhibits including Jessica Burrell’s award winning eggs, we went through the barns and saw the animals, we saw the pig races, played a few games and made our final stop at the Maple Sugar Shack, home of the famous maple cotton candy, Kitty’s favorite!
Overall it was a fabulous month and we were happy to get out on many walks , delivering posters and visiting the library and all our friends around town.
