TROPICAL 5K CLASSIC

Thank you to all the amazing people who organize the Tropical 5K Classic, the sponsors, the participants and this year's Tropical Prince, Brooks and Tropical Princess, Lucy!

It was an awesome event, and Lending Hearts is proud and honored to be part of it each year.

PITTSBURGH PIRATES CANCER SUPPORT GAME

Our friend, Penelope Byler, threw the first pitch at the Pirates Cancer Support Game which was also her first Pirates game ever!

Penelope was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma at 2.5 years old. Completed 66 weeks of Chemotherapy and 6 weeks of Proton Radiation. She has been in remission as of November 2019 and looking forward to entering survivorship this fall!

Lending Hearts also had the great honor and privilege of having our Executive Director, Vasso Paliouras, in the broadcasting booth during the game and sharing our mission and purpose. Read our blog post to learn more and to see some great photos!

Lending Hearts not only had the great honor of being part of this year’s Pirates Cancer Support Game, but we would like to give great thanks to Pirates Charities for their spotlight on Lending Hearts, our families and the extremely meaningful work the Pirates and Pirates Charities have done with us.

This month is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and Blood Cancer Awareness Month...two of the foundations to Lending Hearts and the inspiration to the creation of our organization.
