On September 22, we were thrilled to be awarded a generous $15,000 gift from PNC Foundation's Arts Alive program. These funds were awarded to eight cultural arts organizations in the Palm Beaches for programs that "increase access to visual and performing arts activities for children." Read more about this event and find out how you can help support Palm Beach Symphony's music education programs through a tax-deductible donation that helps keep classical music alive for future generations!

This week, we also received a $2,500 donation from Publix Super Market Charities to help support our Children's Concert Series. We are grateful for this support and excited about the opportunities this helps open for our youngest audiences. |

New this Season - In addition to presenting six free performances of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf to school groups, we've expanded our Children's Concert Series to include an additional open-to-the-public performance at the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center where families can enjoy this unique experience together. (Free for children 12 and under, $10 for adults.)
This collaboration with Ballet East brings orchestral music to life through symphonic music, dance, costumes, and interactive audience participation. PBS Assistant Conductor Johann S. Guzman will lead the Symphony, and PBS Board President Dale McNulty will take his traditional role as narrator.
The performance is co-sponsored by the Dolly Hand Cultural Arts Center and made possible for the students and families at New Hope Charities through the generous support of Mr. James R. Borynack and Mr. Adolfo Zaralegui at The Findlay Galleries.
Palm Beach Symphony graciously acknowledges The Paul and Sandra Goldner Conservatory of Music for funding Palm Beach Symphony's education programs, and we extend additional appreciation to Mrs. Lois Pope, our sponsor for the Children's Concert Series at The Society of the Four Arts.

We had a wonderful time at Palm Beach Day Academy's STEAM Extravaganza Night on Saturday, September 23, where we demonstrated the science behind making music. Students played songs on water jars, rice jars, and even a Blue-Man-Group-style "drumbone." To help demonstrate the "Science behind the Strings," we brought in an electric bass guitar plus a video demonstration to show how electrical energy is converted into mechanical energy, a fun way to explain the basics of audio engineering. Take a look at PBDA students enjoying the science of music. |
