What will you do to appreciate your Office Manager?

The American Association of Dental Office Management (AADOM) and CareCredit officially launch Office Manager Appreciation Month on September 1, 2022.  

Dentists, teams and especially dental office managers are invited to celebrate and recognize all these #AwesomeOMs do for their teams, patients and practices.  

The centerpiece of the celebration is the OMAM website (https://OMAM.CareCreditVirtual.com), created by CareCredit. Here, dentists and their teams can find ideas and resources to help make celebrating OMAM festive, fun and easy. A separate experience on the site is for our guests of honor, dental office managers, filled with affirmations, inspiration, and a fun virtual experience.  

According to a 2020 study by Zippia, there are more than half a million dental office managers in the United States and a large majority of them are women.  The most common degree earned by a Dental Office Manager is a Bachelor’s Degree.  The position often includes a wide range of responsibilities - from hiring and training staff, marketing, and patient communications to financial management and

community outreach.  Thanks for all you do!

We appreciate Rheta Booth of Booth Dental in Bozeman. She is the winner of MDA's first "Dental Office Manager of the Year," presented at our Annual Meeting in Big Sky in April.

She began her dental career as a researcher in the Center for Research in Oral Biology within the Department of Periodontics at the University of Washington School of Dentistry in 1974.  Her Master's degree in immunology provided a tremendous foundation in many areas of oral biology.

Now she puts that knowledge to work managing the family practice in Bozeman, with husband Dr. James Booth and daughters Dr. Jamie Booth and Dr. Lindsay Tarkleson (joined by then-MDA President, Dr. Ingrid McLellan presenting the award in center of photo above.)  Thank you, Rheta!

We hope you're appreciating them more than ever this month!  And think about nominating them for the "Dental Office Manager of the Year" award next May 11-12, 2023 in Missoula at the 120th Annual Meeting of the Montana Dental Association.  Nomination forms will be available well in advance.
