September 2026

I can't believe we're halfway through September already... Not sure where the time goes. Our fall is busy with lots of exciting church activities AND lots of exciting activities going on in our households. We've intentionally created a schedule where we're gathering AND seeking to give families space to connect with one another.

So... check out the dates and information below.

As always, reach out with whatever questions you might have.

In Christ,

Pastor Allison Yankey

PERSONAL NOTE

I will be in Ghana, Africa October 1st through 12th with the Wabash Pastoral Leadership Program, then I will be home recovering with my family through October 17th. I'll be in church on Sunday, October 18th, but youth group will not meet October 11th or 18th due to fall breaks.

Take some time to hang out with your family, do something fun (even if it's just here in the Fort), and send me pics! I'd love to hear what y'all are up to. I'm sure I'll be posting pictures from my trip!

If you're interested in more information about my trip to Ghana, you can check out my itinerary here, chat with me, and/or I'll have a session on a Sunday morning when I return sharing all about it!

Fall Event Update

After looking at our fall calendar, the school calendar, and everything already happening in the life of our church and the lives of our church families, we've decided not to hold Trunk or Treat or another church-wide fall event this year. With Halloween falling on a Saturday and fall already bringing a full calendar, we decided it made more sense to enjoy the things we already have planned rather than add another big event to the mix.

And there are still plenty of opportunities to gather, have fun, and serve together:

Trivia Night — September 19

Youth/Mentor Fall Food Fest - October 25

Project 216 — November 7

Trivia Night: Friendsgiving Edition — November 21

So, if you've been wondering whether you should save a trunk for Trunk or Treat this year—the answer is no trunk needed! 😉 We'll look forward to seeing you at the other ways we're gathering this fall!

Things to Note

Youth Sunday School

Youth Sunday School has officially kicked off! It meets nearly every Sunday in the classroom in the Cove at 9 am.

We've got a great new curriculum this fall and a classroom of engaged kiddos, so be sure to head that way if you're here during 1st service!

And parents? We've got a great class for you just across the hall!

Youth Group

Youth Group meets most Sunday nights and follows this format:

5:30 - 6:30 PM: Middle School

6:30 - 7 PM: Community Time

This includes snack, hang out, and time for socializing and connecting.

7 - 8 PM: High School

Youth Activity Boxes

We get it. Sometimes our youth listen better during worship when their hands are busy. Each week, check the back pew (on the stained glass wall side) - or wherever the youth row has situated itself - for our stack of youth activity boxes.

We've got fidgets, scratch art, friendship bracelet materials, coloring, and more. Just have them return it before they leave!

Permission Slips

It's that time again - time to fill out permission slips!

Our annual permission slips cover ALL our events for the year except for overnights, which will require a specific permission slip for that night.

Download the permission slip below and return to Pastor Allison.
