Happy Labor Day Weekend to you! We remember and applaud the work, creativity and ingenuity of the American worker on Monday, September 5th. It is especially fitting to recognize our current employees in the island workforce who have managed and adopted through so much in the past few years to keep our island economy running. We salute our workers and thank them for their hard work, loyalty and inafa' maolek spirit in helping to keep the lights on and energy up at the job site and the work place!


We had a great Attorney General Forum on Wednesday, August 31st. If you missed it, you can view the event here. We would like to thank Leevin Camacho (incumbent) and Douglas Moylan for their participation. We wish them both well moving into the general election.

Governor Felix Camacho on Wednesday, September 7th at the the Hilton Guam Resort and Spa beginning at 11:00 a.m. We encourage your attendance and ask that all members RSVP ahead of time as we anticipate a full house and walk ins may not have a seat. S.A.M.E. Guam Post Opens Registration For Guam Industry Forum 2022


Scheduled for November 14 -16th, the forum will discuss billions in Department of Defense projects slated for the next five years.


The Guam Post of the Society of American Engineers (S.A.M.E.) announced on August 25th the opening of registration for its Guam Industry Forum 2022 event from November 14-16, 2022, at the Dusit Thani Guam Resort. The three-day event will welcome speakers and attendees from around the globe to network with U.S. Military decision-makers and team up with other service providers for local contracts. Toys for Tots Campaign


Can you believe the holidays are just around the corner? In partnership with the Marine Corps Activity Guam, we are excited to launch this year's Toys for Tots campaign. The official kick-off will be at our General Membership Meeting on Wednesday, September 28th at the Hilton Guam Resort & Spa. All members attending the meeting are encouraged to bring a new and unwrapped toy to this event.

Legislative Update


The Guam Legislature passed the 2023 Budget on August 31st. Senators voted to approve over $1B to run the Government of Guam. View Budget Bill here. The bill now awaits the Governor's signature. 


Bill No. 306: The Chamber and Guam Economic Development Authority (GEDA) presented supporting testimony before the Guam Legislature on September 2nd to pass Bill No. 306, which seeks to amend the current Captive Insurance law to address administrative issues that make Guam less attractive by foreign companies. The FSM and Hawaii have become attractive domiciles and have seen substantial revenues from foreign investment specific to the establishment of captives in their respective areas. The Chamber and GEDA have worked on addressing issues associated with the Captive Insurance industry as part of the Economic Diversification Initiatives Working Group established in 2020.  Click to view the Chamber's Testimony
