Dear Residents,
We wanted to provide you a follow up email from the work today. The water has been completely drained/removed from 85th street. Our crews are currently on site sweeping the street to ensure the site is as clean as possible and will be on site tomorrow to complete any additionally street cleaning as needed. Please anticipate workers on site Monday during the Holiday. No heavy equipment work will take place, as the contractor will only be checking the lines for further testing.
- The contractor will continue with the work needed for 85 street from 60 avenue to 62 avenue. The work entails the following:
- Removal of the temporary asphalt that was applied for the holidays and end of year. (Completed)
- Density testing of the soil and lime rock, at different locations along 85 street, to ensure the subsurface is prepared for road restoration. (Completed)
- The pipes installed must be tested to receive approval of the installation. This testing will be coordinated and scheduled with Miami Dade Water and Sewer. We will provide further updates on this schedule. (Completed)
- Finalize connection of the force main installed along 85 street to the main system at the corner of 62 avenue and 85 street. (In progress)
- Finalize any subsurface preparation for the roadway restoration. (In progress)
- Swale and private property restoration is the last task to ensure that any restoration would not be impacted by the work listed above. (Forthcoming)
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times.
