Dear Residents,
As part of our commitment to keeping you informed, below is an update on the ongoing work on SW 85th Street.
The contractor will be performing critical testing of the newly installed force main line on SW 85th Street. To minimize strain on existing water customers Miami Dade County Water and Sewer requires this work take place in the evening. The work is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM on Thursday, February 20. As a result of the testing, area residents may experience low water pressure during this time.
The testing process requires the use of fire hydrants for flushing the system, which will take a few hours. We have instructed the contractor to take measures to reduce noise, though residents may hear backup signals from equipment and the movement of steel slabs. A vacuum truck will be onsite to remove standing water. Additionally, our Public Works crews will be onsite Friday to clean up the work site.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during these times.
Please see below the contact information for Mr. Gomez with the Public Works Engineering Team for any additional questions you may have.
