Dear Residents,
Please find the latest update on the progress of the Septic to Sewer Conversion Project in your neighborhood below:
SW 85th Street / SW 60th Avenue:
- City staff has begun resodding areas of dead grass.
- The contractor is expected to restore catch basin aprons within the next week.
SW 87th Street:
- Restoration work will continue over the coming weeks. This includes grading and sodding of swales, along with the installation of sewer clean-out boxes.
Water Main Reroute (Easement Area):
- The sequencing of the water main installation and connection requires prior approval by the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD).
- WASD must review and approve the plan before connections are made, which includes confirmation of materials and preparation of water connections/piping.
- Prior notice will be sent before any work commences.
Pump Station:
- The final plan for the pump station has been submitted to WASD and is currently under review.
- Prior notice will be sent before any work commences.
Miscellaneous:
- Please note that Wednesday, June 19, 2025, is a City holiday in observance of Juneteenth. There will be no on-site meeting that day. The contractor has indicated they may request to continue working on the holiday. The City will provide an update if that request is approved.
- The park right-of-way has been cleared. Site leveling and sod restoration are scheduled for completion this week.
As a reminder:
- Final road resurfacing by the City will occur at the end of the project.
- Dead grass is being replaced as needed.
- Individual property restoration items are being addressed on a case-by-case basis and will be finalized and shared with residents as completed.
- WASD staff will continue surveying for upcoming water system tests. Affected areas and the schedule will be shared once confirmed.
