PTSA MESSAGE
Hey! My name is Karen Gebhart, and I am the 2022 – 23 Sequoia PTSA President. A huge thank you to Karen Ha for all of her hard work as last year's PTSA President! This is the Gebhart family’s 4th year at Sequoia, and our kids are in 9th and 12th grade.

The PTSA’s mission is to positively impact the lives of all children and families, and we have three main areas of focus:

  1. We run programs such as Mini Grants, Reflections, Junior Scholarships, Teacher Appreciation and more. SHSEF generously funds the PTSA for these programs.
  2. We fund raise for, and run Grad Night for each graduating class. Each class builds its own fund for Grad Night by selling evergreen wreaths (sophomores), basketball concessions (juniors) and football concessions (seniors), with the remaining costs offset by ticket sales.
  3. Last, but certainly not least, the PTSA creates and distributes the weekly Sequoia Sentinel. Very credible sources say it's the best in the west, but you can be the judge of that!

All summed up, there are a lot of areas where you will want to roll up your sleeves and get involved!

Save these dates:
  • Aug. 16: Freshman and New Student Orientation / Orientación Para Estudiantes Nuevos y de 9º Grado. Go to the Sequoia Website to find out about this student-only event running in shifts all day. And don’t forget to stop by the PTSA booth for an ice cream treat!

  • Aug. 16: New Parent/Guardian Orientation in Carrington Hall at 5:00 p.m. / La Orientación para Padres/Tutores Legales nuevos tomará lugar en Carrington Hall a las 5:00 p.m.

Here’s to a great school year, and GO RAVENS!
