MAIN MESSAGE

Oct. 3: Join us for the next PTSA/ELAC meeting

Join us this Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) for our next PTSA/ELAC general meeting. Our featured guest will be Principal Priest.

October is an exciting and busy time of year. For many families, the start of the school year can feel more like the ‘new year’ than January does. New schedules, new (and old) friends, new classes, new schools for some, and new opportunities. It can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time. Here are a few tips for staying on top of things at Sequoia:

  1. The Sequoia Calendar will inform you of events and answer the question of “which day is it?” Is it an "A Day" or a "B Flex Day?" The Sequoia Calendar has the answers! It is so important, the Sentinel provides a link to the calendar in every edition.
  2. The Sequoia Home page will remind you of the Bell Schedule - once you know what “Day” it is!
  3. Looking for a general overview? Sequoia 101 will summarize what you need to know.
  4. The Staff and Student Bulletin covers everything from Student Announcements to sports schedules to info on all the Sequoia Clubs. While the main intent is for your kids to hear it, read it, and get involved, it is also a helpful resource for parents. Read it on the Sequoia website, or subscribe by sending a blank email message to receive it twice a week in your email.

There is much more information on Sequoia’s website - go get something with pumpkin spice in it, and dive right in!

GO RAVENS!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Sequoia shadow days and campus tours

Shadow days and campus tours for potential students (8th graders) and parents are in full swing! As an experienced parent, you can spread the good word about life at Sequoia — academics, music, sports, theater, social!

1) Parent info sessions will take place on 8th grade shadow days. Corey Uhalde, Dir. of Student Activities, will lead info sessions while you provide input from your own perspective during these Q&As.

2) Saturday campus tours will be led by ASB students but it is beneficial to have a Sequoia parent along to give their point of view.

We have many dates to fill. Click here to sign up for either event, one or multiple days! Dates are listed in the sign up. Contact sequoiaptsa@gmail.com or cuhalde@seq.org with questions.

Oct. 18: Chaperones needed for SF Tea Garden field trip
