A Message From Our President

Something to never, ever forget. God's love is always there for us..no matter what!

SEASONS  TUITION ASSISTANCE LUNCHEON

This past Sunday, we celebrated our 4th Annual Tuition Assistance Luncheon in support of the tuition assistance  programs here at St. Serra, and the Marian Alliance Schools:  School of Our Lady, St. Anne's Parish School and St.
Joseph School, all located in Santa Ana.

Photos from the luncheon are now posted on our webpage

We were joined by 190 guests to raise money for financial assistance to those in need at all four schools. Tuition  Assistance helps provides a safe haven, a home away from home, a community of faith and an excellent Catholic  education for these students. We truly believe that all children who desire a Catholic education deserve this  opportunity without life's circumstances getting in the way of that. These children NEED US!  If you did not have  the opportunity to attend the luncheon or if you were caught up in the excitement of the afternoon and didn't
have the opportunity to donate to the event you can still do so  here .

There are also some St. Teresa Treats left from Open House.  They are each $5.00.  All donations for these treats go  directly to the Tuition Assistance Funds of the 4 schools.  If you would like to purchase any St. Teresa treats for  your child(ren), please send in a check made out to Serra Catholic School, Attn: Advancement Office STS and we will  deliver the treat(s) to your oldest child's homeroom.

Our many thanks to Karin Hendrick, Event Chair, her committee, our amazingly creative table hostesses, hard  working volunteer servers, event volunteers, alumni student helpers, our eloquent speakers, and all our attendees who helped make this event so beautiful.  We look forward to another successful event next year!
Catholic Schools Week Service Project

The Gift of Warmth, Like God's Love, Has You Covered From Head to Toe

Tomorrow is the last day to send in your donations! Please join our school-wide service project by donating beanies, scarves, gloves, and socks for men, women and children of all sizes. All items will be collected in homerooms and distributed to Illumination Foundation which assists the homeless in Orange County. Your support of this service project to help those in need will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

S afety Drill
Throughout the year, St. Junipero Serra Catholic School conducts monthly safety drills to ensure proper preparation in the event of a disaster. Some of the drills will be announced prior to taking place while others will be unannounced in order to simulate, as closely as possible, the occurrence of a real disaster.  It is our hope in the event of a real situation, students can remain calm and effectively execute proper protocol because of the drills they have practiced. These drills include fire, earthquake and lockdown. Please be assured, your child's safety and well-being are always at the forefront of our daily operation.

Yellow Weekly Envelopes
The yellow Weekly Envelope that is sent home every Thursday with your oldest child, has a dual purpose.  Some weeks the envelope will contain hard copies of items referred to in the SerraDIPITY, but it is also used as a way for our parents to return things back to the school such as forms, payments, etc., and that is why it is sent home every week. We ask that the envelope be returned the next day so that we can prepare it for the following week. If you have lost/misplaced your Weekly Envelope, please email Mrs. Jennifer Lynch at [email protected] by February 10 and a new one will be sent home the following Thursday after receiving your email. There will be no cost for the replacement envelope for any requests received by the date of February 10. There will be a $5.00 replacement fee assessed for any requests after that date.

An Important Message from the Health Room
The cold and flu season has arrived. There has been a noticeable increase in cold and flu viruses in the past few weeks at St. Serra. As a reminder, if the Health Room calls to report that your child is sick our policy states that you must pick your child up within 45 minutes of being called. If you are unable to pick your child up within the specified time frame, you will need to contact someone who is on your emergency form to pick your child up.

In order to stop the spread of contagious illnesses it is vital that you do not send your sick child to school. Children taking prescribed medication must take a full round of the medication before they return to school. Children must be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school.

We have this policy in place not only for the health and safety of your children but also for the well-being of our staff.

If you have any questions regarding health related issues, please contact the Health Room (949) 546-8705.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Something new at SJSC... Coming Soon!

The 2016-2017 Annual Fund will once again provide a wonderful asset to SJSC!   We all know that water consumption is so important to our health and to learning, so St. Serra will be piloting 2 Hydration Stations on campus.  Not only does this positively affect the health and productivity of our students, staff and guests on campus, but it allows us to be more environmentally friendly! The more money we raise - the more stations we can purchase. Won't you please help us promote good health and continue to keep us SerraStrong by making your Annual Fund donation today by  clicking here ?  Thank you to all who have already donated!
