A Message From Our President
Yesterday, we embarked upon Lent 2017. As each of us have our personal sacrifices of fasting, prayer and service (works of love), we collectively have our Lenten commitment of "Let HIS light shine through you". I love this thought at the beginning of Lent, as it reminds us that we can make someone's day just a bit better by being Christ's light.

Don't miss out on this special, faith-filled morning of reflection and growth with guest speaker and author, Cyndi Peterson, M.D.. Registration is $15 per person and a Brunch Buffet is included. For more information please visit the   LENTEN RETREAT HOME PAGE .

Lenten Service Project 2017
Catholic Relief Service (CRS) Rice Bowl

Forty years ago, Catholics in the United States wanted to respond to famine in Africa. Could we feed the hungry through Lenten prayers, fasting and alms-giving? The answer was yes - and it came in the form of a small cardboard box. During the Lenten Season at St. Serra Catholic, our students participate in this annual service project filling their  Rice  Bowls with past annual contributions of over $3,000 for those in need around the world. The poorest of the poor will be nourished this year because of your kindness and love regarding working toward a common goal to help alleviate hunger. On behalf of all those who will not go to bed hungry, thank you and may God bless you for your continued generosity. Rice bowls will go home with your children the week of March 13.
There is something new at SJSC...
Hydration Stations Are Here!
The 2016-2017 Annual Fund HAS once again provided a wonderful asset to our school!  Not only does this positively affect the health and productivity of our students, staff and guests on campus, but it allows us to be more environmentally friendly! CHECK OUT THE AMAZING BENEFITS OF THESE UNITS.

The two stations are located on the exterior of the MEC and PEB buildings - one being located in the St. Junipero Serra Courtyard between the team locker rooms and the other is located in the PEB Lunch Area to the left of the servery windows.

Thank you to all who have already donated to this year's Annual Fund and helped make this possible!  If you have not made your donation to the 2016-2017 Annual Fund appeal, you may do so today by CLICKING HERE .

To kick off the addition of our hydration stations, we will be selling SJSC logo stainless steel water  bottles beginning this Friday at Grandparent's and Special Friends Day.

Beginning next week, the bottles will be sold online via the school website under the Support Us tab.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day

Share the festivities of Grandparents and Special Friends Day with those who cannot attend in person!

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a very special occasion here at St. Serra, but we also know that not all grandparents have the opportunity to travel to be with us on this special day.

This year, by using some of the technology tools that we have at our disposal, we have a couple of ways that they can be a part of the day from the comfort of their own home.

Our Grandparents and Special Friends Day Prayer Service, broadcast from the SerraVision studio, will be LIVE streaming on the public side of the SJSC website.  Simply forward this link to any of your grandparents and/or family friends so they can see our fabulous SerraVision anchors in action and can participate in our beautiful prayer service. The prayer service will begin at approximately 8:35 a.m. PST.

Immediately preceding the prayer service, 8:25-8:35 a.m., our Middle School and Handbell Choirs will be performing LIVE on our Facebook Page using Facebook LIVE. We will also be filming, via Facebook LIVE, the Blessing of our Guests. The blessing will be performed by our Student Council officers and should take place at approximately 8:55 a.m.

We sincerely hope that these technology tools will allow any of your guests, who are unable to attend in person, the opportunity to share in the joy and happiness of this day at St. Serra.

Tuition Assistance 2017-2018

It is a part of our  mission and vision to provide a Catholic Education within the boundaries of our four parishes for all those who desire to be a part of St. Junipero Serra Catholic School. St. Serra is so grateful of the sacrifices our many families make to send their children to our Catholic School. We are also very appreciative for the significant number of benefactors who contribute to our Tuition Assistance  program  on a regular basis. We want all current families to be able to remain at SJSC should financial issues present themselves, therefore we will once  again offer tuition assistance to those who qualify through our blind, third party process.

Please note that it is important to your application process that you remain an active parishioner at your parish.

We are pleased to announce that we will be working with FACTS, our new online administrator for managing our  tuition assistance application  process .  Most of you who have applied for high school tuition assistance will be familiar with this process.  Please  CLICK HERE  for more information and  to see how to access our new Online Tuition Assistance Application.

Deadline for submission is  Monday, March 27, 2017.

Please contact Shannon Smith in the Advancement Office at ext.139 or via e-mail at  [email protected]  for application guidance.
