Congratulations SJSC Catholic Math League Winners!
Catholic Math League is a national Catholic School math competition that was started in 1997 and currently serves hundreds of schools across the country.  Math competitions are offered for each grade from third grade through Advanced High School Math.  Many of our advanced math students at St. Junipero Serra Catholic School completed the series of tests required for this contest which were administered from November to March.  These tests were graded to determine the highest individual scores.  The top three student scores for each school receive a certificate.  In addition, students can receive awards for having top scores in the division or in the country.  These students competed with other students from our Division in Alaska, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Guam.

We wish to congratulate Mrs. Andrews/Miss Rivera, Mrs. Evans, Miss Thomas and Miss Becerra, our advanced plus math teachers, for encouraging and making it possible for their students to compete in this contest.  CLICK HERE to view a video of the SJSC Catholic Math League winners on our Parents Only section of our website.

Preparing iPads for End of Year Collection
As we prepare for the end of the year, here is some important information on how we will be collecting the student iPads from our students. If you have purchased your student's iPad, additional information will be forwarded to you directly on how to prepare for its removal from our management software and when to expect delivery of the iPad.

Collection Schedule
The days listed below will be the one and only opportunity that we will be collecting the iPad and accessories from the students at the specified grade levels. If your student will not be in school on the date listed, please contact Jana Chantarapan at jchantarapan@serraschool.org to schedule a time when the iPad and accessories can be returned. Families who do not return the iPad on the date listed or schedule an alternate collection time, will be billed for the cost of each iPad ($213).
  • Friday, May 26 - Eighth Grade
  • Monday, June 5 - Grades Three and Four
  • Wednesday, June 7 - TK and Kindergarten
  • Thursday, June 8 - Grades One, Two, Five, and Six
  • Friday, June 9 - Seventh Grade
Backing up the iPad
Student iPads will be wiped before they are turned in, so it is important to ensure the iPad has been backed-up to iCloud, Google Drive archived (if not returning), and files transferred if desired before their collection date. Students will not have the opportunity to retrieve data from an iPad after it is wiped if they have not backed up their device.
  • CLICK HERE for how to manually back-up to iCloud if necessary
  • Students who are graduating or not returning to St. Junipero Serra Catholic School can archive their files and documents in their Google Drive by utilizing Google Takeout. CLICK HERE if you wish to review these instructions. This is only necessary if you are not returning to the school next year.
  • Beginning May 19, we will remove the restriction from the student iPads prohibiting iPads from connecting to a home computer. With the removal of this restriction, students and their parents may now synchronize the iPad to iTunes on a home computer, or transfer documents from the iPad to a home computer.

Students will be responsible for returning the following items:
  • iPad with the school-issued case
  • Protective shield

  • School-issued charging block*

  • School-issued cable*

*Apple products MJ262LL/A (power adapter) and MD818AM/A (lightning to USB cable) are acceptable, even if not original school-issued equipment
If an item is not returned when the iPad is collected, or the incorrect item is returned, an invoice will be sent home to the parents through our Business Office. We will also be evaluating the condition of the iPads when they are returned. Families will be responsible for the repair of any iPad which has a cracked screen or is not in a condition to be returned to the leasing company without penalty.

Please email iPads@serraschool.org  if you have any questions.
