And let us consider how to lift up one another, to love and good works

A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT TRUDELL

CONGRATULATIONS AND SIEMPRE ADELANTE!
Please join me in congratulating and wishing our 8th-grade students, who will be graduating next week, the very best as they move on to high school. We are so proud of their many accomplishments and know they will be great representatives of St. Junipero Serra Catholic School. May God continue to bless and watch over them as their spiritual and educational journey continues with many new and exciting opportunities that await them.

We also congratulate our Kindergarten students who will celebrate their graduation ceremony next week as well. We know they will be back to join us for many happy and faith-filled years at St. Serra.

Your prayers for our 8th Grade and Kindergarten students are most sincerely appreciated.

SAVE THE DATE

CONGRATULATIONS SJSC CATHOLIC MATH LEAGUE WINNERS!

Catholic Math League is a national Catholic School math competition that was started in 1997 and currently serves hundreds of schools across the country.  Math competitions are offered for each grade from third grade through Advanced High School Math.  Many of our advanced math students at St. Junipero Serra Catholic School completed the series of tests required for this contest which were administered from November to March.  These tests were graded to determine the highest individual scores.  The top three student scores for each school receive a certificate.  In addition, students can receive awards for having top scores in the division or in the country.  These students competed with other students from our Division in Alaska, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Guam.

We wish to congratulate Miss Rivera, Mrs. Evans, Miss Thomas and Miss Becerra, our advanced plus math teachers, along with Catholic Math League Coordinator, Mrs. Barb Franz, for encouraging and making it possible for their students to compete in this contest.

IMPORTANT SUMMER ACADEMIC INFORMATION
It is the practice at St. Junipero Serra Catholic School to send home optional summer work for students. Summer Math Solutions consumable workbooks are being provided for each student.

We are happy to again provide our students home access to Type to Learn 4.  TTL4 is a comprehensive instructional keyboarding program that covers skills ranging from beginning to advanced.  It is recommended that students spend 10-15 minutes, 3-4 times per day, using Type to Learn 4. Students should plan to use a keyboard cover for their practice sessions so that they don't  develop the habit of looking at the keys while typing.

The Summer Math Solutions Book and Type to Learn 4 login information (incoming 2018-2019 1st-8th graders) is being sent home with all current students  tomorrow, Friday, June 1
