And let us consider how to lift up one another, to love and good works

A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT TRUDELL
Chapel Blessing and Grand Opening Weekend
Saturday, October 6 & Sunday, October 7

We are anxiously awaiting an historic weekend here at St. Serra, the Blessing of our St. Junipero Serra Chapel, official ribbon cutting for our Student Creation and Leadership Center and Community Day open house. Below are just some highlights with more details in a Constant Contact October 1.
  • All families will receive a special invite (check your emails in the next few days) to view the Blessing of the Chapel in the Student Activity Center (SAC). We hope many of you will come to be a part of this celebration. The Blessing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on October 6, with Bishop Vann as the celebrant. Since the Chapel has limited seating of just 200, we have prepared streaming live picture and audio to the SAC. Communion will be given as well.
  • Boxed lunches available for purchase on that invite, served immediately after the Blessing.
  • Families are invited to the 1:30 p.m. ribbon cutting of the Student Creation and Leadership Center on October 6.
  • Tours of the new Chapel, Creativity Lab, Music room, Parent Hub, and Administration Wing will be given between 1:45 - 4:00 p.m. on October 6 and 12:00-4:00 p.m. on October 7.
  • The campus will be open to the public October 7 from 12:00 - 4:00 p.m. with tours, food and visits to at least one classroom per grade level in all buildings.
Please join us October 6 & 7  and see the miracle of your gifts of time, talent and treasure!
Creativity Lab is Now Open
We are so excited to announce that our students have begun to participate in the new STEM learning environment with the opening of the Creativity Lab sponsored by Creative Learning Systems. Miss Thomas, Mrs. Zeimer and Mrs. Lozinski are so excited to welcome the children to the exciting programs they have prepared for them each day. As discussed at all Back-to-School Nights, the lab will be used by all students grades TK-8 in various schedules to ensure that they can complete the 4-5 day activities planned. When I asked 4B about the lab experience, they clapped, said thank you and that this is the best class that has ever been at St. Serra.

Field Closure Update
For the safety of our students, the field has been closed this week due to fire ants. We are taking aggressive steps to resolve this issue and hope to have the field open soon. In the meantime our Yard Supervision has done an outstanding job organizing fun activities for our students during lunch and recess.

Traffic and Walker Announcement
Starting Monday, September 24 we will go back to the former way walkers are picked up, from the main gate by our new Chapel Wing and Extended Care. The front door on Banderas will be closed as well as the gate by Kindergarten. Again, this is effective MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, FOR THE AFTERNOON DISMISSAL.

Such a beautiful way to speak of our theme, JOY: Jesus-Others-You.  When we express and show love, compassion, patience and understanding, we are being JESUS TO OTHERS. When we are being Jesus to others we share His Father, God, to all. Today, how can we echo God to others through JOY?

God is Good All the Time...
All the Time God is Good.
