Our Lady of the Rosary Memorial Mass
Wednesday , October 10, 2018

We hope you will join us for our Mass next Wednesday, October 10 at 9:30 a.m. to pray as a community in the presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This Mass will be hosted by 4th and 8th grade. We will also be praying the Holy Rosary as a school, as we meditate on our Lady's request to pray for world peace. We are blessed to welcome Father Thomas Naval, Pastor at Santiago de Compostela, as our celebrant.  Students in Grades 1-8 are to wear Formal Uniform. For your convenience, the inner road will be open for parking, plus we do have parking in the neighborhood for this Mass. There is NO PARKING allowed in the Memorial Health Care parking lot.

Plan to arrive earlier and join other parents as they pray the Rosary before Mass beginning at 8:45 a.m. in front of our Blessed Virgin Mary statue in our newly dedicated  Chapel Rosary Garden. Everyone is welcome! Please join us after Mass for the St. Serra Community Parent Fellowship and Coffee Social in the St. Junipero Serra Courtyard.  More information can be found in the PTO section below.

We would love for you to join us on this special day. We have so many blessings to be grateful for and prayer is needed by so many people today. Let's come together to celebrate the never ending Love of Our Lord and His Blessed Mother during Mass next Wednesday.

Your Annual Report is Here!
Want to see all that our St. Serra Community accomplished in 2017-18? Inside today's Monthly Envelope, you will find the 2017-2018 Annual Report.

We are pleased to share with you last year's highlights and the many accomplishments that the school achieved. Please take some time over the next few days to look the report over and see our continued commitment to our Charism: "Inspiring a deep faith, innovative mind, and caring heart through Christ..." As one community we will continue to partner together to ensure the further advancement of our school and the students we serve.  Siempre Adelente!

Don't forget to come to campus this weekend to see the Creativity Labs in action! These labs are your 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 Annual Fund dollars at work!

Preschool Parents: Your Annual Report will be in your child's backpack tomorrow.
"Pennies from Heaven" - Every Life is Worth Living
October 8-30, 2018

Next week we will kick off the annual Respect Life Month or "Pennies from Heaven" program developed within the Diocese of Orange. All students and staff received a new baby bottle to take home, fill up with donations and return back to school before Friday, October 26. These funds support local Respect Life shelters, clinics and centers which assist women and families in crisis. This collection is one substantial way for you to promote a culture of LIFE in our community. If you are writing a check, please make it payable to St. Junipero Serra Catholic School and indicate "PFH" on the memo line. Thank you for your support!

"Food for Friends" Food Drive - Tuna & Cracker Drive
Friday, October 12

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me."  Matthew 25

Thank you to all who supported our first "Food for Friends" food drive last month. Our Cereal Collection was a big success! On Friday, October, 12  we will once again collect food to support San Francisco Solano Parish. This month we will be collecting TUNA & CRACKERS. Please use a grocery bag from home.

Food drives strengthen our community by giving us an opportunity to live the Gospel teachings of Jesus, "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me."
Halloween Teaching and Doctrine of Our Catholic Faith

We as Catholics, are devoted to ensuring that our Catholic Faith has a presence in the society we live in. We at St. Serra are extremely aware of the popularity of Halloween and how that popularity has grown over the past years. We are excited to bring Halloween to St. Serra in a Catholic  tradition.

JOY Jesus, Others, You. When Jesus is truly the center of our lives, then JOY is easy to live, give and experience.

Some ask why did we build the Chapel. Because bringing Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament to our St. Serra home is reminding us that he is the center of our faith. JOYfully we welcome Jesus this weekend.
