Stronger together... we lift each other up. We are SERRASTRONG!
And let us consider how to lift up one another, to love and good works
- Hebrews 10:24

A MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT TRUDELL
Chapel Blessing and Grand Opening  - An Historic Weekend!

Thanks to so many, our Chapel Blessing weekend was history making for our school and a grand success!

On October 6, Bishop Kevin Vann dedicated our St. Junipero Serra Chapel and welcomed Jesus to his home in our tabernacle. It was just simply A GLORIOUS MASS AND MOMENT IN TIME. The entire weekend from the Dedication, to the lunches, to the Ribbon Cutting of our new SCLC and our community open house brought families (alum and current), staff and community members together to see the Miracle that is St. Serra School. The words Thank You are not enough to express the gratitude I feel to so many who made this all a reality.

I hope you will take a moment to visit our  Chapel Blessing and Grand Opening web page to watch the highlight video and view pictures of this amazing weekend. We have only just begun to cherish this important part of our campus. I hope you will continue to follow us on Social Media and follow me here in the SerraDIPITY as I continue to share with you the JOY our chapel is bringing to our students, parents and community.

Early Morning Drop-off Reminder
As a reminder, per the Parent Student Handbook (section 902), campus supervision begins at 7:10 a.m. For safety reasons, students are not allowed to be on campus without adult supervision (such as Choir, Decathlon etc.) and therefore any student arriving before 7:10 a.m. must be checked into the Preschool Extended Care or Regular Extended Care program. Both open at 6:30 a.m. (Refer to Section 1100 for further Extended Care Information)

St. Serra Catholic School will be participating in The Great California ShakeOut 2018.

When?   Thursday, October 18, 2018 at 10:18 a.m.
With? Millions of other Southern Californians
Why? To prepare our students in the event that there is a real earthquake.  Also, it is always a good idea to practice our disaster plan.
How long will the drill take? The drill should not take longer than 30 minutes.
What do parents need to do? We do not need parents to participate in the drill here on campus. We will not be asking you to come pick up your students for this drill. However, we encourage you to participate in the Great Southern California ShakeOut at home or your place of business.

This week we kicked off the annual Respect Life Month or "Pennies from Heaven" program developed within the Diocese of Orange. Thank you for your support of this important ministry!

REMINDER: "Food for Friends" Food Drive - Tuna & Cracker Drive
Tomorrow, Friday, October 12

Tomorrow we will be collecting food to support San Francisco Solano Parish. This month we will be collecting TUNA & CRACKERS. Thank you for using a grocery bag from home.

St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta reflects here on JOY that brings us to LOVE. When we pray with JOY - thinking of Jesus first, then Others, and then Ourselves - we are preparing ourselves to show LOVE to others, and by doing this we are showing our LOVE of Christ.

Let us pray today and each day with JOY.

God is Good All the Time...
All the Time God is Good.

Simply take pictures of 2 to 6 students in small groups, include their names in the order they are positioned, and send the tagged images to your Yearbook Grade-level Section Editor. They'll do the rest! It's a fun and easy way to earn service hours and get to know the students in your child's homeroom.
