"Father Forgive Us" Fall Reconciliation Service
Monday, November 12, 2018
Grades 3-8, Formal Uniform Required

On Monday we will celebrate our first Reconciliation Service as we prepare our hearts for the upcoming Advent season. We are honored to have multiple priests celebrate this sacrament with your children. We would like to thank the following priests for committing their time: Fr. Jim Dunning, Fr. Angelos Sebastian, Fr. Tuan Pham, Fr. Stephen Lesniewski, Fr. Duy Le, Fr. Aristotle Quan , Fr. John Nguyen,  Msgr. John Campbell, Fr. John Block, Fr. Jerry Horan, and Msgr. Ted Olson.

We turn to God through repentance asking Him for Patience as we await the  promise of our Savior this Christmas. Our Catholic Church recommends we receive the sacrament of Reconciliation during this upcoming holy season. Advent, in the liturgical year, is known as a penitential season of waiting. Confession is a natural step to cleanse ourselves from sin and start anew with a renewed focus on Christ as we await the celebration of His birth.  This will be a formal uniform day for Grades 3-8.

To Everything There Is A Season
2019 Tuition Assistance Luncheon

We are pleased to announce the Sixth Annual Tuition Assistance Luncheon,
being held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 12:30 - 3:30 p.m. in the
SJSC Muzzy Family Student Activity Center!
This women's luncheon is dedicated to supporting Catholic Education for those in need.
Your participation and support of this event helps make a very real difference in the lives of many students. The assistance provides a bridge for St. Serra families who are experiencing unforeseeable or emergency circumstances. It also supports students within our Diocese who do not have access to the same financial resources as we do, but who work hard to excel in school with the hope of earning a better future for themselves and their families.
We are called to help those in need as part of our Catholic tradition (Mt 25:35-40). There is no greater investment, nor greater return, than to provide children with access to the tools to build a better world, particularly within our Catholic faith community.

We are pleased to announce that during the luncheon we will also be honoring Dave Hanna with the 2nd Annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Commitment Award for his long-term dedication to Catholic education and the students in our community. Book your seat today to help us celebrate Dave as well as raise funds for Catholic Education.
Electronic Invitations with the reduced ticket price of $75.00 for Early Bird registration were sent out yesterday to all St. Serra families. The ticket price will increase to $90.00 on December 1.
You do NOT need to be invited to sit at a table...please grab a friend and choose a table theme that sparks your interest...ALL ARE WELCOME!

Dismissal will now be 11:30 a.m. for grades TK-2 and 12:10 p.m. for grades 3-8.

529 Education Savings Plan Can Now Help With SJSC Tuition
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 allows families to withdraw up to $10,000 tax-free from their 529 savings plan to pay for private school tuition. These educational savings plans were traditionally used by families to invest and save for their children's college tuition. This new law, which became effective January 1, 2018, opens up this tax benefit to families for K-12 private school tuition. We encourage all SJSC families to check with their tax professional or financial adviser for more information about this new law.
