Prayer Requests
There is power in prayer. Your prayer concerns are important to the English District. When you submit a prayer request, it will be posted in our weekly eNewsletter, Servant to Servant. The Bible's promise is true: "If we ask anything according to his will, he hears us" (1 John 5:14). Please email  Holly Scheer  with your prayer requests.

The District daily prayers for January are available on our website. Please join us in prayer.

In Our Churches
Christ Lutheran Church, Lake Mills, WI
The church's crèche was built by their pastor in a silhouette of the manger scene. It serves as a reminder of Martin Luther’s words:  “Word and Sacrament are the manger and swaddling clothes into which it has pleased Christ to lay himself.”
Christ the Shepherd, Alpharetta, GA
Christ the Shepherd Lutheran Church’s Sunday school performed "The Christmas Story" during a church service.
Peace in the Valley, Benson, AZ
Two new members were brought into membership, bringing the year's total to 11. The church also had a record attendance of 90 for the Christmas Service!

Shepherd of the Coast, Palm Coast, FL
Shepherd of the Coast Lutheran Church celebrated the spirit of giving at Christmastime by donating food and hygiene items so that the Sunday school students and youth group members could assemble 100 Blessing Bags for church members to distribute to homeless and needy individuals in the community.
Hope Lutheran Church, Hastings, MN

Trinity Lutheran Church, LaPorte, IN

1-1-1 for Missions
Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Atlanta, GA had a wonderful first quarter of giving towards the 1-1-1 campaign! The church's members -- even the littlest ones -- have been inspired to give generously and consistently, and this tiny but mighty church of approximately 60 members exceeded its goal for the first quarter.
They had hoped to raise $500 within three months toward district missions through 1-1-1 (this is above and beyond their regular district giving) and the total ended up being slightly higher at $605! Ascension members are already off to another enthusiastic start for round two. They hope other churches will join together with them to combine gifts and continue to support the mission of the district in sharing the Gospel with all people.
Make Your Ordinary Assets an Extraordinary Blessing
God has blessed us abundantly. We respond in love by serving Him and sharing our earthly blessings with others. Just as we are responsible managers of God’s blessings all through our lives, we are also to practice good stewardship in the way we distribute our earthly blessings when He takes us home to heaven. Where do we begin?
