In Our Churches
Remembrance Day, Sarnia, ON
Remembrance Day Service in Sarnia, Ontario celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the end of WWI. Pictured here is Inspector Rev. Dr. Roger Ellis, Chaplain of Sarnia Police Service since 1990 at the beginning of the parade and at a Cenotaph made by local high school students for the service in Sarnia.
The arena this year filled with hundreds of people from the city. At 12:30 pm all the city churches with bell towers sounded out 100 peals of their bells to mark the 100 years since the end of the fighting in WWI.
St. John's, Golden Lake, Ontario
Each month, the members of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Golden Lake, Ontario donate items to fill Operation Christmas Child shoe boxes. This year, the congregation will be sending 50 boxes to Samaritan’s Purse for distribution to children in selected countries. Pictured are Susan Buske and Brenda Buch.
Ascension of Christ Lutheran Church, Beverly Hills, MI
Bishop Rev. Peter Anibati Abia from the Sudan visited with Pastor Daniel Grams at his church, Ascension of Christ Lutheran Church. He preached a timely All Saints Day message, led a formal presentation during Sunday School, and spent time with God's people during the fellowship hour. Thanks to the Lutheran Heritage Foundation for sponsoring his trip to the United States. Bishop Abia expressed his appreciation to Pastor Grams for the congregation's hospitality and partnership in the Gospel.
Chapel of the Cross, St. Louis, MO
On Sunday, November 11, Veterans Day, Chapel of the Cross honored member veterans with a special display of their pictures and mementos.

Prince of Peace held a Veteran's Day celebration and service to honor veterans.
Martin Luther Chapel, East Lansing, MI
Martin Luther Chapel plans to provide Thanksgiving dinner ingredients for 4-5 families from  Wellspring Lutheran Services . They're collecting food items and packaging them together to make holiday meals for families in need.

Hope Lutheran Church, Hastings, MN

Some of Hope's high school students helped honor and celebrate veterans with a special Veteran's Day program.
In Our Schools
West Portal Lutheran School, San Francisco, CA
West Portal Lutheran School observed Veteran's Day at a school assembly to honor the veterans, retire old school flags, and raise a new flag. 
The Student Council presented each veteran with a gift. Each student was given a token to help them remember veterans and their service to our country.
Shepherd King Preschool, West Bloomfield, MI
After reading “Over The River”, Pre-K students enjoyed making a turkey using the same number of feathers as they have in their name. The children practiced the letter “O”, created with floam, explored the Pumpkin Patch and built in the blocks.

Lutherans for Life of Michigan Contest

Lutherans for Life of Michigan invites you to participate in their “Life Issues Contest” for 2019. Entrants may submit an essay or artistic project. The essays and artistic projects will be considered two different categories so that they will be evaluated and prizes will be awarded separately.
