On Sunday, February 10, 2019, The Rev. Peter M. Burfeind was installed as dual parish pastor of Agnus Dei, Marshall, MI (English District) and Our Savior, Union City, MI (Michigan District). The officiant was The Rev. Eric C. Forss, English District Circuit Visitor for Western Michigan Circuit #13. Elders from both congregations gathered for a photo with Rev. Burfeind and Rev. Forss. Agnus Dei Lutheran Church held a Chartering Service on November 14, 2018. Rev. Forss officiated the service. Charter members posed for a group photo.

Professional Church Workers Conference
Mark your calendars now for the 2019 Professional Church Workers Conference (PCWC) to be held May 14 (registration begins at 5 pm) through May 16 (Noon). The Circuit Visitors conference will immediately follow the PCWC May 16 through May 17 (Noon). The conferences will be held at Risen Christ Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Michigan and Delta Hotels Detroit Metro Airport. Registration form will be available soon.

This bring us to 54 congregations participating in 1-1-1.
Join in the fun of helping us grow two missions. The more congregations participating, the more support there will be for us to be able to touch lives with the Gospel of Jesus.

Currently, the Midwest Region is at 42% with the Eastern Region at 41%. With Ascension of Christ joining the Lake Erie Region, it brings them up to 28% and the Western Region has 26% of their congregations participating.

Tax Changes!

Kaleidoscope Fund 2019
The Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) is pleased to announce that applications to receive a Kaleidoscope Fund grant will be available April 2019. The Kaleidoscope Fund is a granting program designed to support eligible
Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) ministries with outreach and expansion.

Information about the grant process will be available at the end of February here .   So, put on your thinking caps and begin to dream.
LCMS President Election Voter Registration
Each congregation and parish has already received an  LCMS President Election Voter Registration  form with which to register a pastoral and a lay voter for each congregation or parish. 

Attendance at the District Convention is no longer required for a pastor or layperson to serve as an LCMS President Election Voter, since the 2016 Synod Convention eliminated that requirement.

Voter registration forms can only be accepted by the Office of the Synod Secretary until Sunday,  March 24, 2019
If your congregation has lost its registration form, please contact the Office of the Synod Secretary    or phone 314-996-1417 as soon as possible to obtain a replacement form.

Below are links to important information about the 2019-2020 English District financial aid applications. Please read the information carefully and note that the deadline for submission is Saturday, June 1, 2019.

Please note that the  first time you apply for aid, there are two forms to complete . They are the Financial Aid Information Form and the District Financial Aid Application.

In subsequent years, you only need to complete the application unless your financial or personal situation has changed. Grants are not given to interns, vicars, or graduate students.

25th Anniversary Begins at Epiphany, Dorr, MI
Sunday, February 10 was the beginning of Epiphany, Dorr, MI's 25th anniversary year. Pictured are some of Epiphany's members who are either charter members or joined in the first few years of the church's history. The anniversary celebrations will culminate in a special service on September 29, the 25th anniversary of Epiphany's official reception into the Synod.
