CTCR: 'Online Technology in the Church: Study Materials'

The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s 2023 convention asked the Commission on Theology and Church Relations, in conjunction with the Council of Presidents and the Office of the Synod President, to produce a study document to aid our churches in reflecting on their use of technology.

This document evaluates five primary ways that churches in our midst have considered using digital technology — livestreamed worship services, virtual multi-parish arrangements, online reproof and church discipline, online-only congregational membership, and artificial intelligence-generated sermons — in the hopes that we can think through the issue together and consider its benefits and detriments.

Vocatio: Retreat

Vocatio: Retreat, held on campus at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is set for April 12–15, 2026. This three-day retreat is for college students and second-career men and women and offers an opportunity to rest in God’s Word and learn more about the path to full-time service as a pastor, deaconess, missionary or chaplain. Registration deadline is March 22.
